Shelter Movie Mustangs

1972 Fastback Sprint & Stunt Double

(formerly owned by Cody G. Carson)

About

I owned the Mustang used as the getaway car in the the movie, Shelter filmed in 1997. I also built a non-running double for the car to be used in the shootout scene. (see bullet holes in windshield)

I also played as “Wayne” the lead bad guy in the opening action sequence (That is me in 1997). And I was a non-credited part-time crew member working in movie car acquisitions. I supplied the cars for the shootout scene at the Little Rock River Market and acquired the 55 gallon drum of varnished gasoline that was used in making the giant explosion and mushroom cloud at the barn scene.

 History of this Vehicle

I will fill in more details later.
The running car was my daily driver for several years before and after the filming of the movie. The car was also used in a local TV commercial as: “The Mustang from the Movie Shelter”.

 Plans for this Vehicle

The car was sold 1999 when I was going through a hardship, but I would eventually like to buy it back.

I have a few more pics, but I have to find them. If any of you see the movie and want to buy the car, PM me. I have the VIN on an old regestration and you can look it up to see where it is now. The non-running "stunt double" car was crushed by the guy who was keeping it for me; I don't want the running car to go to salvage. I don't know who has it or how well it is being taken care of.
