The following is a list of cars that I came close to buying. As you'll see, I came across quite a few during my 2 year search.
NOTE: None of the following pics except the Lincoln Mark V are the actual ones I looked at.
94 Caddy Deville Concours. Black with gold trim everywhere including front grill, striping around doors/windows and the quad exhaust tips were all gold as well! It sold.
1983 Caddy Brougham. Cleaned well kept car. Private owner went psycho(Relgious nut) so we ran.
1972 Buick GS. A sweet car with mods done. The guy was a scammer and so we ran.
95 Grand Marquis. Clean well kept car. Everything looked good till tranny shuddered during test drive. We left.
97 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Really low KM for a good price. Ready to test drive and talked. Vehicle looked like a theft recovery vehicle. Many trim pieces missing.
Not one but TWO 95 Chevrolet Impala SSs. One had really high miles (which explained semi-descent asking price). Other one was sold by the time I got to look.
92 Infiniti Q45. Low km for a good price. Ready to test drive and possibly talked. When online to research and found that 90-93 Q's suffered from serious problems. A/C freon no longer made as well. Expensive to fix.
The Buick Regal GS. 0-60 in 6.6sec. One big sleeper. I love them so much. I didn't get it cuz I got the Lincoln and it was $5000 more :p
Another Buick sleeper. A 95 Roadmaster fitted with the Corvette derived 5.7L LTI 260hp/330lb/ft torque. This tank flew to 60 in 6.7 seconds. It was 0.5 seconds faster than the Impala SS which was the king of the B-Bodies. Didn't get it cuz it sold...FAST!
93 Caddy STS. 300hp Northstar motor. Didn't get it cuz maintainence waaaay to high for me plus it's tendency to drink and piss oil like a motherfucker.
91 Bright Red Trans Am Conv. Everything checked out well but the owner was not very friendly. It seemed like we wanted to get it out of there and have nothing to do with it. His actions (and the relgious nut's) made me lose confidence in private sales.
1980 Turbo Trans Am. I was looking at a white with a tri colour (red, orange, yellow) bird on the hood. The car sold.
1980 GMC 4x4 van. Had lift, rebuilt engine and tranny and redone interior. Problem is guy was never there to answer phone so I said fuck it.
The really close one's were the these...

The 99 Bonny. Except I was looking at a silver with chrome wheels and charcoal interior. The car was flawless and that supercharger was wicked.

By far the sweetest car I looked at. 1977 Lincoln Mark V with flame sparkly metallic paint. Crager wheels w/new tires. 4 wheel disc brakes. New exhaust, lowered. Low Km. It was sweet except they put so much into the exterior but nothing in the engine or interior. It had rips, tears, leaks, dirt and grime. If I had money for a project car, I would've taken it but had to let it go.
1972 Mercury Cougar XR7 Conv. The car I wanted the MOST. Tons of work done with receipts to show. Very nice guy. Honest and open. Car sold 3 hours prior to me phoning him ready to close deal. Punched a hole in the wall out of anger
Whew! Quite an extensive list. But that's how it goes when your criteria is specific and anal.
