THANKS SPARKY!!!....I aquired this truck when i was 17 years old and the story behind it is very sad yes but it has forever changed my life and how i live. IT starts with me in high school looking for my first set of wheels and everyone's been there. I had only two thousand dollars to my name but saving that money took a while especially on a dairy queen salary. My neighbor two houses down had this truck that had been parked in the back yard since we had moved in and i didn't know if it was for sale all i knew is that i realy wanted it even with the condition it was in. With never meeting these people i walked over introduced myself and asked them about the truck and they let me look at it but let me know that it wasn't for sale because it was their son's truck... his name is sparky or thats what everyone called him. I told them if Sparky ever wanted to sell the truck i would be willing to do just about anything to get it. They were very nice people and i thanked them for letting me look at the truck. It wasn't in the best shape but it still looked like a mean ride. Both doors and both fenders were filled with cancerous rust holes, the engine didn't run, the tranny didn't work the gas tank was shot, as were the body bushings, two tires couldnt hold air and the two that could were dry rotted, and the list goes on, but i still wanted it more than any other ride. Time goes by and i thought i would never find a car or truck that could compare to Sparky which is the name of my truck if u couldn't tell and i was right. No matter how hard i looked nothing could match up to this tank of a truck. This is where the story takes a devastating twist... Their son was taken from them by the actions of a man that was out to hurt someone and it didn't matter who the person was and it just so happened to be Sparky. I would go into details but out of respect for them i choose not to, but i will say that I am a firm believer in the law for i am graduating this August from Sam houston St with a degree in Criminal justice and with plans of going for my masters. I am also working at a prison in huntsville, and so i believe that Justice will prevail. Back to the story.. Others have tried to purchase this truck from my neighbors but they just couldn't get rid of it for obvious reasons. As time went buy they decided that it would be best to let it go and i will never forget what they told me. A boy and his father went to them wanting to buy it and they thought about it and asked the boy how much money was he going to offer for the truck and the boy instantly turned to his father and asked him how much money do we have dad and as soon as he said that my neighbor told him the truck was no longer for sale. After this a couple days had gone buy and i had no clue this had happened. My neighbor knowing how bad i wanted this truck went over to my house while i was in school and asked my mom that if i did get the truck if i would fix it up or would i just be one of those kids that trashes their ride and neglects it. My mother knowing that I'm independant and have been paying for all of my posessions since a young age and help with bills occasionaly. Assured him that i take care of everything i have because people that don't have allot know the value of a dollar and me putting myself through college definately know this. With this he handed my mother the title and said if i can get it towed then i could have it. I can't even express in words the emotions that hit me when i got a call at work from my mom telling me i had a truck...lets just say punching a frozen blizzrd.. not the best idea lol. Since that day i have been pouring MY MONEY into this truck and every time i do something new to it i head back to my old neighbor hood to show them and their reaction is priceless everytime and their happiness makes me feel great. Some people love their 30 plus mile to the gallon cars compared to my 10 on the highway and i have to use premium but that doesn't matter to me because this truck is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me..THANKS SPARKY!!!!

Hey. Thanks for checking out my ride. If you are thinking of a Cadillac 500 (the 501 is considered a 500) I would be happy to give you some pointers to save you a lot of money and headaches. I have done a lot of extensive research on the Cad 500 and know quite a bit of the ins and outs of this engine. You will not find a more powerful engine for the price. I am very happy with it. When I was breaking it in, I had it on the interstate cruising at 75mph. I decided I would punch it to see what it would do and it lit up the tires like I was sitting still. That is from a 500 that is built to stock 1970 Eldorado specs.
