ThomasOakman's 1974 Mercury Montego ThomasOakman's 1974 Mercury Montego

These photos are of which when I started the restoration expedition. these photos were taken after the carpet had been removed. These are just a brief walk about around Ross.  Ross is a 1974 Mercury Montego MX Brougham, she has 62,080.7 miles to her name. She is equiped with the Ford 400-M motor and backed by a standard C6 Ford trans and a stock Ford 9 inch rear end. The car came with few options. The feature of the ordinary are A/C, Power Steering, and when either the driver side door or passenger side door is opened, the lil lever on the back rest of the seats to flip them forward automatically pop up for easy entry. But, over Ross's time she has had a few preformance upgrades, such as 2 1/4 inch exhaust runing into individual flowmaster mufflers, and along with a Carter Competition 4 barrel Carb. The Mercury was originally purchased by a women back in '74. She passed in the 1990's. My dad's friend purchased the car for a really cheap price, and drove it for a while. Then my dad was given the car. It was sold to another friend, sold to my boss, and some how it ended up with me. I plan on restoring the Body of the car. But, doing an extensive over haul on the original Ford 400M.  I got this car in the summer of 2007. I will try and update this as much as possible.

The Engine : 1974 Ford 400-M, Ram Air, Carter 4 barrel, Dual Exhaust, Power Steering, and Air conditioning

I'll probably just put the head unit in the glove box like a lot of people have been saying. Yeah my interior might be cleaner than yours but your engine bay is MUCH cleaner than mine. definitely 5 stars man. I'd say go all out on the interior but not TOO all out. What happened to the stereo btw?
