BROWN IS THE NEW BLACK

Okay, this is the cleanest truck of this vintage that you will find ANYWHERE!  It has a Summit Racing air cleaner, chrome diff cover, chrome valve covers, headers, true duals with no cats dumped in front of the rear tires(it sounds delicious :P ), 2" drop shackles, wider 255-70 Tigerpaws, and a throttle body spacer.  Please rate my NEW ride!  I added a few more pics, hope you like em.  And also there's a short Youtube video of the exhaust.  Thanks for checking it out!

Update!  I'm still driving and still loving my new truck.  Figured out a few things that need fixing.  The gentleman that owned the truck before me is a cool cat but he did a couple of things that I wouldn't have.  When he removed all of the a/c components after the compressor quit, he cut off the ac compressor bracket eliminating the idler and belt tensioner pullies.  So he has the alternator artificially jacked up to hold tension on the belt and it slips from time to time making a nice squeal.  As soon as my church's VBS program is done this week I'll be going to Perry's to get the bracket and a junk compressor for my belt to ride on.  Then it's on to the exhaust.  he was dying to have "true duals" but couldn't bend the pipe himself so he ran it down the drivers side.  There's no room on that side so he ran it UNDER the crossmember.  It's pretty low and otherwise just isn't correct so It needs to move.  PLUS, if I ever want to lower it, it's gonna be the first thing that gets ripped off.  Oh, and if I lower it it should look like this:

I had to do that because I couldn't find another truck like mine anywhere on the web!  If you or someone you know has a Light Autumnwood RCSB like mine (two-tone or not) please comment and let me know where I can see some pics.

Update:  I got the bracket, belt tensioner, and compressor from Perry's yesterday.  I spent about an hour cleaning it and removing some mold lines and stuff.  A buddy of mine is going to bead blast it for me to make it look like new.  The compressor won't be hooked up to anything just yet.  It's just going to serve as a pulley for the belt to ride on for now.  I'm tired of the belt squeaking from time to time and this ought to cure that.  Also, I realized that this same friend has a colossal hook-up with Magnaflow and I may be able to score an awesome deal on a complete exhaust to replace some of the piece-meal system that's on there now.  I'll let you know what happens with that.  Until next time...

Update:  Well, not much to update really.  Got the bracket back.  Thanks Brandon!  Looks great.  Good suggestion was made to paint it with aluminum paint first so it'll be easier to keep clean.  I'm excited about getting it in the truck but I need to raise some cash to get the other stuff I need (paint, belt, a plug of some kind for the compressor, etc.) so it may be a minute before it is right.  Otherwise all is good.  I am avg. around 16 mpg right now which is about what I expected.  It is still running great and sounding good.  I am going to try to get a y-pipe from Perry's soon to replace the hacked up one that is on there now.  It's a bit of a mess to be honest.  Once I get that straight it should take care of the intermittent check engine light.  See, the left bank of the engine is running un-catalyzed and straight down the driver's side of the truck.  So the sensor before the "cat" is only seeing the exhaust from the right bank of cylinders.  It runs fine, but when you idle for a while it probably senses a lean condition and throws a code.  Once it is back to a proper 2-into-1 it should be right.  May run better too.  Any input would be appreciated.  I'm thinking once I get that fixed I'll decide on a muffler and run a  single side exit to the pass. side ala Gibson's Sport Truck systems.  We'll see.  I'll keep ya'lls posted.  Later!

Brown is back, baby.

Thanks for checking in!
