First off this is not my first Maxima. I've had several 4th gen's and a 5th gen. We sold our absolutely mint 96 Gle a couple years back because we just had our second child in 13 months. As soon as we sold it we regretted it. I had a 98 Se 5sp still but my wife refuses to drive a manual trans car. We finally got to a point to be able to afford a second car and Found a Very nice looking 2004 Se in Bloomington Illinois at Elite Cars. The salesman was great and very professional. I called after the purchase and inquired about the extra set of keys and a wheel lock. He got right on it and took care of us. That's the good part.
The bad part started when I had to get under the car to fix a couple clips on the lower valance. I saw something that looked odd on the drivers side so I looked at that side of the car. I could not believe my eyes.
This whole panel was falling apart. I literally pushed on it and the whole thing fell apart. The body plug never sealed and the whole cavity rusted from the inside. Man was I bombed out. Maxima's are some of the nicest and pricey cars out there and this is what I get! Worse yet the Dealer and Nissan Cooperate Told me TO BAD!!! your car is to old and has to many miles for us to worry about. 73K on it and only FIVE years old and it out of their hands. Hey at least my RUSTY 1994 chevy truck had 176,000 on it and was a rebuilt 1994!! I have never seen such rust damage on a car this new. Drop your Comments here if you have the same problem. If I were you I'd check out your 6th Gen Maxima floor boards. Oh yeah and check your Altima also. They are much worse. At least they start 15K cheaper.
As you can see from the pictures this car is very nice. I'll upload the rust pictures later tonight when I get better pictures. Feel free to email me you rusted out 6th gen Maxima Pictures.
