1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport

5.9L 370 cu.in. with 4 speed Auto

Powertrain:

This truck started its life with a 5.9L 360 cu.in. engine, After strapping on a Paxton SN93 Supercharger kit to a motor with over 100,000 miles the head gasket gave way. The motor has been rebuilt by Cheney Engines in Hastings, MI. It is now 0.030 over making it 370cu.in. running about 9:1 compression ratio. The heads have been replaced with Mopar Performance cast heads because the stock heads were cracked in between each of the valve seats, which apparently these trucks are known for. The Supercharger has been placed back on the motor producing about 8-10 lbs of boost.

HEADERS:   (Installed 8-22-09)

I purchased a set of PACESETTER headers for my truck and installed them on Aug. 22. Let me just start by saying that you should NEVER, NEVER BUY PACESETTER!! They came with the headers, gaskets, bolts, and no install sheet. So I installed them in about 2 hours and after 10 minutes of driving down my road they looked like this:

Not only did this make my truck look aweful but you would think that Pacesetter wouldnt want their product looking like $hit... I ended up taking them back off and painting them myself with 2000 degree high temperature header paint. (more pics soon)

Exterior:

New (As of 8/8/09)

Hey man thanks! Yeah these old dodge trucks are basically indestructable. We talked dropping in an engine with some real balls later down the road, but my cash situation (college...) seems to get in the way a lot. That is an awesome sub box you built for your brother. I am in the process of building a center console for this truck with AutoCAD.

thanks for the comment...my truck dosent see any off road anymore though so i dont know how much the long arm kit will bennifit me...now that i have got all the rust repaired and getting ready to put new paint on it i think im going to leave it as a show/dd and build somthing else for off road..i also got my kit at planet powersports...if you ever decide to go with a long arm kit and want to get rid off any of your old suspenion let me know i might be interested in it for another truck
