Well now, bet a lot of you didn't know I was a big fanboy of the first Z cars from Datsun/Nissan?

Well I finally got one! :D and omg, talk about a rare find indeed, I haven't spot any rust on him yet not to mention I'm the official second owner. He appears to have been well taken care of from his previous owner, new paint job, undercarrage is practically rust and corrosion free, the interior isn't the greatest but WAY good for a car over 30yrs old, and the body feels pretty strong :D

The only set back was the engine inside the car overheated but to my luck, the owner also had an L24 engine sitting around that he sold to me as well so I'm using that as the new powerplant.

Heres a fun fact... I got the thing for only 800$USD!!!! yep, you read that right, no need to check your eyes lol! When I offered it to him I was being generous and said 800 for just the car it'self, but he said, nope, for 800 you get everything, which included a new clutch too! I really REALLY lucked up on this find <3

But yea, he's the rare 1974 260Z :D and due to rarity I will be fixing up the L26 block as possibly put it back in for an all numbers matching car or just use it as a daily driver engine :D

Below are some photos of the first day I met him, he was really dusty and frankly, very smelly inside, I knew he was just crying out for a bath so badly

Over the bonnet

you can really see how dusty he was. The previous owner installed that air scoop on the bonnet to help prevent vapor lock as these cars did have that bad. I have yet to run the car on the freeway to find out just how well it works but I must saw the guy did a great job at putting it on and feathering it flush to the bonnet's surface!

Quartar rear

Lots of dust still, he said the poor car had been sitting for 10yrs... uh-oh >_> I think I better check the suspension parts before driving it over 5mph LOL

Power

*le`sigh* I've got a LOT of work ahead of me, but it's well worth it! :D

Driver

A shot of the driver's side, like I said, messy but not bad for a 30yr old car <3

Passenger

Passenger side, nothing too different.

And lastly the spare engine I got with it, the L24

It wasn't filled with shit like the engine in the car was... but that's a story for later :P hehe

You're right, I'm very serious about my 260Z rebuild. I just added some new pics and info and will be adding more later this week. Trying to do the full motor deal this week. Thanks for the votes and good luck with you and yours. Dave
