So here it is...my new project. I traded my Fiesta and $300 for a 1975 Mach 1. It's in amazing condition considering how a lot of people feel about these cars and treat them accordingly. However, my very first car was a 1977 Mustang II 2+2 and fueled my love for cars. Unfortunately a 302 4-speed Mustang is not the best car for a delinquent 16 year old kid, so you're probably drinking your beer out of what's left of that one. Fast forward thirteen years and I finally got the chance to get one back. It's a 1975 Mach 1 with a completely bone stock 302 and a C-4 three speed transmission. As I said, it's amazingly well taken care of with just the standard door dings, and very minimal surface rust. Being bone stock from 1975 in the pinnacle of the gas crisis, the performance of it leaves much to be desired. It's running with about 140 horsepower and 250 ft/lbs of torque. It's kind of respectable in such a little car, but far from my goals. It's a great solid 302 though, and it starts right up every time and just purrs with no smoking, so I guess the first step is to just wake it up and clean her up for daily driving. Then I'll concentrate on waking up the V-8 with an exhaust and maybe a top end kit from Summit, but that will take a little time and money, so here's what I've got for now.

Since I intended to spend a couple of grand to pick up a Mustang, and ended up getting a partial trade for my Fiesta...I decided to just go buy the other Mustang II I was looking at. So I lowballed the guy and took home a 1976 Cobra II the same weekend for $1500. I'll create a page for the other one soon, but here's a driveway pic after a good weekend. (At least in my book)
