This is my 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL(my ideal would be a Vr-4 with AWD, but I got an awesome deal on it so I'm definitely not going to complain). So far the only mods are custom paint(the black needs to be re-done though, looks good enough for now though), new spoiler, tinted windows, hood scoop, and cold air intake(which needs to be re-installed because it was left in the front seat when I bought it). I am extremely happy to have this car, its my second choice dream car(my true dream car is a Corvette, my faves being the 1960's Stingrays and the ZO6's and newer(Z51, ZR1) though I really hope they're are able to produce one of the new Stingray concepts).

Any who, as I said I got it for an awesome deal, I got it for $1500, it just needs a new clutch put in which I'll have installed as soon as I can. The interior needs to be put back together a bit and cleaned up, some things need to be fixed or something(the door panel and the steering wheel). The only other mechanical problem with it (that i'm aware of anyways) is that it doesn't start, the previous owners installed a new starter and spark plugs and a new battery and I forget exactly what else, to try to get it to start. It does try to start when you turn the key, sounds like its going to start but doesn't. So I'm not sure whats wrong there, any ideas anyone??

Here are some more pics under the hood, whoever owned this before me added some heavy gauge red wires fore some reason, trying to ground something perhaps?? They come from the fuse block and don't really connect to anything, mostly just to the body, should I just remove them?? I also noticed that I've got some nice fairly new wiring for my spark plugs

July 2nd, 2009 update:

Cleaned the doors, dash, center console, added new steering wheel cover, and replaced the clamps for the battery cables with brand new ones and cleaned the battery terminals and got the battery fully charged so I can try to get it to start some more. Also my bf and I bought some starter fluid to try to get it to start and that didn't make any difference when you try to start it. Do you still think it could be an issue with it not getting enough gas? I will add a couple of pics of the interior soon.

*** Also if you look at the interior pics above you'll notice that there are two small pieces missing from the center console/dash, If anyone has those two pieces that they don't need for whatever reason I would very much love to have them(its okay if they're a different color so long as they fit lol, i'll color match them :D).

Actually if anyone has any interior parts/pieces that will fit a 1991 3000GT interior(dash pieces, door panels, speaker grills, etc) that you don't need anymore, I would VERY MUCH love to have them!!! There's like NOOO 3000GT's at any of the Pick'N'Pull type places around here :/***

July 12, 2009 Update:

Cleaned the interior up more so aside from my toolbox and a couple of tools and stuff that I set in the backseat the interior is clean :D will ad pics as soon as I can.

July 26, 2009 Update:

Sooo, it seems that need to replace a coil pack to make my car start, fairly simple, just need to wait until i have the money for a brand new one, it's not expensive, i'm just broke at the moment lol.

August 7, 2004 Update:

Does anyone have any used but still somewhat good tires that will fit a 1991 3000GT's stock wheels?(right now any amount of tread left on them is fine with me, just something to drive on for a 1-3 months until I get brand new ones since the ones on mine are worn completely bald lol)
