I BROKE HER. I went to start her up and I heard a scary grinding noise and now the car won't start. A friend is coming over tomorrow to help me find out whats wrong.
CAR UPDATE!!!! :
Her engine purrs... God, I LOVE the sweet sound of success!!!! Still idling rough below 1800 rpms, but she's pretty much driveable now! Replaced ECU and TPS, now I have to find a 7MGE wiring harness to replace the wiring that crapped out to the TPS.
Hey! My name's Becca, but ya'll can call me Wicked. I own a 1989 Toyota Supra N/A. When I bought it, I could tell it was really abused by its previous owner, so the car's undergoing some major repairs. By the looks of it, the last owner really didn't know what he was doing with the car... the engine was in pieces when I went to go pick up the car, and it was in horrible shape. I put her back together about seven months ago, and now we're fixing up the rest of the problems. I'm keeping her N/A forever ;]
Whats going on right now:
Working lots of overtime to get shocks and new tires! Then she's done... for now >:D
FUTURE PLANS:
Engine: After this engine proves its worthy of a rebuild (going to run it as a light DD for a few weeks), I'm going to throw together a big list of performance rebuild parts I want, and HOPEFULLY I have enough money to do that sometime this year. I need some opinions here. What is the best way to go with a N/A rebuild?
Exterior: Replace trimming and weather seals. Replace all that crappy glass. New tint :D New paint (same color.. sorry guys, I LOVE my metallic brown!) Fix sagging doors and new mirrors. I think that's pretty much it.
Interior: There's not too much that needs to be replaced interior wise. I might make a leather sheath for the shifter, and I need a new stereo, since the jerk took the stereo out when he sold me the car. Maybe clean up the gauge cluster a bit, I'm thinking about fabricating a new age looking dashboard and getting LED lit gauges. I kinda want the new dash to look like the Scion TC's dashboard. I really like its design! Maybe clean up my seats a bit, and fix my seatbelts. Umm.. oh and fix the driver's side door, since its got some water damage.
****My overall goal for this car: I want it to look bone stock exterior and interior. Like it just rolled off a showroom floor in 1989!! But engine wise... well that's a different story.***
