I am not sure how much a T-Top conversion would cost, but I think other Bandits on CarDomain have had it done. It was a blessing my dad bought a non T-Top though. The only reason my car has not split in half was because water did not make it through the roof. One would think it would be as easy as a roof swap, or some fabricated cut-outs. Have you checked out GM-Performance parts? They will sell you just about any crate engine they have, even a 572 if you so choose. Considering recent changes in management, I suspect the high-performance division will be cut and they will have to liquidate much of their stuff. Might be able to snag a ZR-1 LS9 and drop it in your car!
