My 'Bird

I spent months watching this Firebird on CL, waiting for it to drop in price from $1000. After two months passed, I didn't see it posted again. Kept dreaming of driving a white Firebird/Trans Am. Then a little bit after the post was gone I found a new post of a white Firebird for sale, $400. I checked it out, and bought it for $300, not running. Turned out to be the exact same Firebird I was dreaming of on the original CL post.

Maintenance

d00012's 1988 Pontiac Firebird

June 09

Thur 18 - A week and still not running. I've spent money with little or no results. Other than a better throttle response, the fuel still won't burn properly. It looks really bad (like dehydrated pee), and smells terrible. Hopefully draining it and putting in new fuel will help. I was thinking it was the ignition, but my dad did a thorough look over the car and said the gas was most likely to blame.

July 09

Mon 27 - Been over a month and still no luck. My dad and I sent it to a family friend to look it over. Haven't heard anything yet.

Jan 10

Sun 17 - It's now six months later and the car is still sitting. My camaro has been taking up all of my time. I think it's jealous...hmmm. :D

Anywho, it's only at 3 psi of fuel pressure. I'm thinking that little black hose inside the tank is the culprit. I am also going to fabricate an access panel for the fuel pump. I'll take pictures once I start!
