"Looks like a plucked chicken." - Virgil Exner Chrysler Chief Designer 1950-1961

When I bought this beauty... Engine was rock solid from the get-go, but she needed major cosmetics,
I sanded off the rust and touched up the paint (still needs a professional paint job), have totally redone the interior myself, (mice had eaten through the upholstery) ... after flushing the top pump half a dozen times got the top motor to work
I'm collecting parts for a front end suspension re-do, so it can make the highway trips, but I still drive it for my local errands every day :)
Work in Progress
I should have taken more pictures before I started... but it's still a work in progress
Rockers and quarter panel had a fair amount of rust... fortunately not rusted through.. sand, paint, compound and polish got it to a respectable level... still needs a pro to paint the entire car
not bad for an amateur.. with a limited budget
anything not painted was wet sanded, compounded, polished, and waxed with in an inch of it life... if it wasn't for the multiple layers of wax, I think the thin layer of paint would now blow off in a strong wind ;)

I just finished the steering wheel, and sanded and painted the dash.. (I'm going for a two-tone look)
the finish was almost entirely off the wheel.. mostly black rubber showing... The dash was rusty and scratched up... it was originally all blue, but I chose to make both the steering wheel and dash Bone White & Blue... still waiting for the new dash pad to arrive :),,,, (that's a dash cover I made from some leftover vinyl from another project)
UPDATE to Blue Betty
Got the interior done.. bought a seat cover kit, and did the door panels with SEM color-coat (see details and before/after pics at http://www.timelesstransport.com/inexpensive-auto-upholstery/)
the results are not bad... if I do say so myself ;)
