The car is unit #101150 out of the San Jose plant.  I don't know how many previous owners there were, probably 3 or 4 before me.  The owner before the guy we bought it from had the car sitting for over 10 years under a tarp.

Right after we brought it home, June 6th, 2009:

Yay parts taking up my room!

What the previous owner did:

The 6 cylinder is original to the car, and was rebuilt and has less than 1,000 miles on it since.

Engine was slightly bored over, according to previous owner.

Carb, Fuel Pump, water pump, distributor, battery, ect. are all new!

Brand new complete Painless wiring harness.

Interior was stripped, sanded, sealed, heat insulated, and sound insulated (Not in doors though.)

New carpet, upholstery, armrests, door panels, dash pad, steering wheel, etc...

Exterior:

Somebody painted over the nice Nightmist Blue Metallic with Silver blue.  Paint is now dull and chipping, some primer spots coming through.

Body is pretty straight and supposedly has NO bondo anywhere on it.

Needs new front bumper and valence.  When the previous owner had it, someone backed in to the bumber and bent it.

Very little rust, and it's just surface rust.  Underside (like wheel wells) looks rust free.

Stuff to do:

- Going to repaint the interior (dash, metal part of doors, back seat quarter panel metal).

- The wiring is being wrapped with Painless wire brading and wire tape to protect it and make it look cleaner.

- Cutting insulation for trunk, wheel wells, under back seats, etc.  Likely will also use E-Dead insulation and add it in certain areas like trunk floor, trunk quarter panels, and where ever else I need it.  See the trunk page on page 2

 - Going to order the steel Rear Seat/Trunk Fire Barrier and new package tray with speaker holes.  (Might hold off on that for a while to get the bodywork/paint plans in motion.

Recently completed:

- Mustang is back from the shop now, just got all new gauges with new blue LED bulbs.  New horn (with Grant steering wheel adapter kit) installed and working. (See new gauges on page 3.)

- New shifter arm installed with the T-Lock shifter handle to lock the shifter for security.

- Finally, I have a house.  The Mustang now has shelter and I can work on her more!

- New front/rear shocks installed, lower ball joints, front/rear drums, front brake lines, outer tie rod ends, drag link, oil change, carburetor adjusted, chrome export brace installed...etc...

- Recently went out and got paint/body work estimates.  One shop said show quality for $8000,  the other said they can do it for around $3500.  I'll keep shopping around the bodyshops and get more ideas.

- Coolant "exchanged" for new coolant, installed coolant return container kit myself.

- Interior: 4 new window handles installed.  Side chrome seat trim has been replaced, new seat hinge covers.

- I have the washer fluid kit with FoMoCo bag, but don't think I'll use it.

- Body Work/Paint.  Probably get it stripped down to bare metal at a soda-blasting shop.  Paintwise, it looks like I'm going to go with the original Nightmist Blue Metallic.  It'll look nice and be the original color to the car.

After paint/bodywork:

- New black headliner (with insulation on roof?), new weather stripping, all new trim and emblems, rear bumper guards, side mirror(s?), door sills, license plate lamp, backup lights, 1966 Mustang plate frames (on order), and I hope to sometime find California Black Plates.

- I want to get clear turn signal lenses for the front turn signals.

- I think I will replace old grill with a new billet grill from Mustangs Plus.

- Needs decent stereo after paint.  Want to install stock looking radio (one of the USA Series, with kickpanel speakers and rear tray speakers.

- Dual Outlet headers, X-pipe, dual Exhaust to 2-1/4in pipes.

- I finally found a larger selection of 4-Lug Mustang wheels for the '66 I6.  I want to get the KONIG REWIND WHEELS.  They will look great, and they're cheap.  This is what they look like on a Mustang.  I was at one time considering Ansen Sprint 15x7's because I couldn't find anything else.

- Chrome valve cover

- Mild window tinting.

- Rear-end work (possible swap to handle more power?), mechanic said it was "howling", but wasn't an immediate concern.

More first day pics:

Might do's:

- Brighter headlights.

- Transmission refresh.

- Curved Monte Carlo bar (chrome).

- Disc brakes (maybe 5 lug?)..

- Mild cam?

- V8 power if the engine was to need replacement.  This if I won the lotto.

Wow, you're doing very well with that classic Mustang. She's the sweet deal and in fine shape, too! Keep up the good work and please keep us updated on that piece of automotive history! (That interior is in amazingly good shape!)
