Current plans:
-Get out and go wheeling!
-get my 12volt cig lighter working so I can use it for everything but lighting a cigarette-Yuck!
-wire up my CB radio I have
-put on the new fender and use a toilet plunger to get the quarter panel/door dents out
Future Plans:
-a nice set of roof lights and a roof rack
-38mm Weber carb
-snorkel
-exhaust snorkel up about 12" or so with a raincap
-2" or more bodylift
-2" suspension lift using Gen 2 upper suspension arms, torsion bar crank, 2" lift shackles
-Rebuild and re-gear my 8" front axles I got. Just waiting on the 4.875 gears to ship :)
-Find any 6-lug narrow rear with 4.88s for cheap, either a mitsubishi rear with 4.90s or maybe a rare toyota 4runner rear with stock 4.88s
-35s to 38.5s I can't chose between 35" BFG muds or LTBs OR 38.5x11 skinny Boggers. The 35s seem right in a practical sense but boggers would be Soooooo sweeeett...Thoughts?
Quick timeline:
Bought for a mere $700 from a nice guy down the street who parked the truck at his house and never picked it up so he sold it to me :) It had a dent in the front passeneger fender and front clip with a broken tail signal, headlight, and headlight bezel. Pulled the dent with a chain, bent the screws and whatnot to make the new bezel, light, and signals fit.
A few days after I bought it with the new 31s- cost more than the truck!
I convinced my father to get the 31s since I knew I would be wheeling it and deep down my father did too (he use to wheel alot in his younger days, hasn't been for 30 years I knew he wanted to do it again. :)
Since I still had my permit we decided to take it up to our cabin in NC for wheeling and remote fishing. Had to much fun wheeling we never fished! haha.
After I got my license we brought it home:
