MEET SQUISHY
Squishy is my 1992 Geo Metro Convertible LSI. He was purchased from a "junk car" dealership along Rt. 106 in Belmont, NH in May 2009. He was just sitting on the lot, and I caught a glimpse of his rear end. On the way back through, I stopped in and bought the car on the spot.
He was in relatively good shape. The body panels were in excellent shape, no major dents or rust. The strut towers, and control arms (a common rot spot in Metros) were in perfect shape, as was the rear end inside the trunk. There was some slight rot on the passenger side. The driver's side was the worst. The rocker panel was shot, and there was a big patch "panel" for a floor. So I knew it needed work...
Little did I know, the whole driver's side subframe was non-existent. There was almost nothing left of the floorboards because the previous owner repaired it by sandwiching the floorboards between two sheets of steel. *rolls eyes*. The rocker was stuffed with Great Stuff foam (which, btw, sucks to get out).
