74stangv8's 1974 Ford Mustang II

The Story

This is my 1974 mustang ii mach 1. I bought this in 2007 when i was 16 i did not have much money. I bought the car for $300 in cash. So we trailered it home and there we found out that the 2.8 v6 was locked up so we were like know what. So we just worked on body work for a few mounths and tried to get the v6 unlocked which we did but it was shot. So we seen how much it would cost to overhaul it but it was not worth it. So we looked for a good 302. In Octobor we went to take a trip to look at a fuel injected 302 for about $500. That did not run right but while we were there we found a 1970 ford pickup f100 with a 302 that started and ran good and that only wanted $75 for the whole truck. So we brought it home and we took the engine out of the truck and sold the rest of the truck for $50. I did some research about a 74 mustang and found out they did not come with a V8. So we tried to fit it in but it would not go. The first thing we did was cut were the old radiator sat and moved the radiator ahead. Than we put the motor in and custom made the motor mounts and the transmission mounts we also had to shorten the driveshaft to make it fit and come up with a differnt shift linkage. In August of 2008 we had the stock 302 running and driving and all we did was new starter, fuel pump, and manifolds because headers wont fit. We then found out that it overheated because we had the v6 radiator in it and i had no money to get a new one and the engine was worn to. So i got a differnt job and saved up for a new radiator and overhaul the engine in the winter of 2009. Now it is all together and really fun and fast to drive. Still got to do a paint job which i plan on doing a metallic blue and intirior work but for know im leaving it the way it is a sleeper. My dad thinks this car is to fast and he enjoys driving it when i let him, and im going to get in troble with it but it is really fun and glad most of the modfication is done.
