Krider Racing for the Next Generation

You'll notice the chrome Mercedes-Benz star on the front of our Box Cart. That is because this cart was built with true German engineering. Well, maybe, that's a bit of a stretch. It was built in a guy's backyard and his last name was Krider, which is from German decent. Sure, it's note exactly Farfegnutin and it hasn't been tested at the Ring. But, either way it's a winner.
"Back in Black" is the latest Krider Racing creation designed to earn trophies. And it has turned out to be a big earner.

James Krider, age 5, brings home his first trophy for the Krider Racing collection.

After the race James said he was thirsty. He quenched his thirst with an ice cold glass of milk. Who knows? Someday James could be holding the Borg-Warner trophy and drinking some more milk at Indy.

The 2009 Sluice Box Races where held on Saturday, September 19, 2009, during the Mountain Heritage Days Festival.
As with any type of car race there was high drama in the pits. Krider Racing, came up to the Sluice Box races to let their children try their hands behind the wheel. The youngest in the group, Jack Kuhtz (7 years old), went down the track and finished a great lap, but crashed the car into a hay bale at the finish line. Because of the seat belt and helmet he walked away unscathed and his time was fast enough to win division 1. However, the car was wrecked for the next driver, Gus Krider, who was to race in division 3.
Dads, Rob Krider and Steve Kuhtz, worked furiously on the car to get the repairs done on time for Gus (12 years old) to get his run down the street. At the last second Krider Racing cobbled the car together (with a little bit of help from some duct tape) and set the car on the starting ramp. Gus Krider went down the hill (not knowing if the car was going to stay together) and not only won his division, he set the fastest time of the day with a 17.2 second lap.
Another victory for the history books.
