Page 4 PARTS CAR-ENGINE

March 2004

I just bought another 81 Buick Century for $200. No title. Good for parts & engine only. When i got home i cranked it a few times and the started it up and sounded perfect. It was dark by the time i hauled it to my moms house. I'm going to be taking out the engine my self, and swaping it into my other car. My Original Century has a bad engine. This one i bought has a good engine with original 100,000+ mi on it. The guy gave me the transmission on the side. He took it off because it blew on him and he tried to rebuild it i guess but never had time. The 5 Tires are new including the spare. It has a new alternator, radiator, hoses, spark cables, carburator, dist. cap, and some extras in the trunk. Isn't this a great buy?

Looks good! I like the actual front end. If you really want to change it, how about one from a 1979 Century with the sport coupe package (like the ones on your page 7). I think it looks great! Here's a wagon with the sport package and the same front end: http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_7530-Buick-Century-Wagon-1978.html

Hey looks good. Congrats on the engine swap! It's not that hard really.
I like your textured headliner, that adds a nice custom look. Thanks for sharing your project!
I've got old cars that I put a lot of work in. My cars are as reliable as a new one but don't have a payment each month. There is something to be said about keeping a family car, my Nova has been in family since new in 72. You can't look at a car as a model and a year. You have to look at what has been put into it to make it unique.
My opinion is the 87 Regal GNX with its high-tech ceramic turbo, sequential fuel injection, and DIS ignition (way back in 1987!) is my favorite Buick. It was really the last "real" muscle car. Pure brute force under the hood, but still a livable interior. And that styling! It was boxy back when boxy was cool!

i would say the nicest is either the GNX, or the 62 special or someshit from GT4
