This is my plain jane Dakota. Nothing special to talk about. I mainly use it to move stuff like my friends stuff when they dont have a pick-up. I added a bed rack that was FREE. All I do to it is general maintenance. It has about 150k on the 5.2L engine and a new trans without any leaks or smoke. I backed up into a low wall one day and crushed the tailpipe and sheered the leaf spring clamps off. So I just grabbed the saws-all and cut the exhaust off after the muffler. Runs alot better above 80mph.

Possible future adds: If I keep the truck I'll be putting a 6" lift under it. I found a place that has the lift for a rear wheel drive Dakota for about $300 and of course plus labor. Now I could do it myself and just do an rear axle under  and then match up the front end. Its not that hard of a project. Its just a matter of lining everything back up to get it to an alignment shop. But most places that do lifts wont charge the extra for an alignment. But I do believe that would cost me more than $300.

Plus waiting for the extra cash to visit a friends shop in Ca. to do a duel exhaust upgrade and computer software upgrade to match the new exhaust. I could let some exhaust shop do it. But the placement of the 'H' pipe is critical. So we wanna make sure we can monitor how the cylanders are gonna purge after the exhaust is finished and make any changes to the location of the 'H' if needed.

The other problem I have noticed with this truck is how loose the steering is going around curves and hitting bumps at the same time. We think that just a simple steering stablizer may fix this problem. But my friend feels the problem could be in the rear somewhere. When I find out. I will be posting the fix for other Dakota owners. Now if you have had the same problem with your 2 wheel drive Dakota and have addressed this problem and fixed it. Please drop me a comment.

Also while I'm in Ca. we will be addressing the problems that we all have with that damn climate control on the dashboard that always seems to break on almost every Dakota. This thing is just a thorn in my side during the winter cause you cant change the door to put the air to defrost the windshield. I could do all this stuff myself but hey IT FREE!!!

Oh I forgot I added a CUSTOM "Opie and Anthony Show" WOW sticker.
