Hey everyone. This is my friends car. Rate it and let me know what you think.
THIS PAGE ORIGINALLY WAS STARTED BY A FRIEND I HAVE NOW TAKEN OVER AND UPDATED MY NEW STEREO JUNK.

6 JL Audio subs!!
Very Loud!!

by the way i junked these after market tail lights because they just look stupid. the whole thing started with a buddy who gave me these, and i intended to get the other half on ebay or something. well that never happend so i took them out and sent them to the trash. thats the best thing i ever did YUCK

Well i decided after all these years of competing with my 6 subs that im pretty much out of it. These havent been in my car for a year or so. it was now time for them to go. i sold them for allmost as much as i paid for them a couple of years ago. ha ha sucker. anyway i wanted something smaller, compact, clean, and mostly loud enough to show up the local punks around here. so here is where my story picks up. say goodbye to these
This is the start of my new box. a new fiberglass enclosure in the spare tire well.

here is the first layer of fiberglass and the top ring. its a start but were not there yet

Here is a shot after several more coats of fiberglass resin. this took almost 2 gallons to complete. and it almost went horribly wrong. i had a couple of half gallons laying around so i only bought one more. i used the new gallon first and then one of the half gallons. when i used the second half gallon it would not harden. it was just too old. after a little freaking out, now 4 hours or so into this, i decided to see what the good old arizona sun would do. it was about 112 out that day. man did i get lucky 10 min after moving it outside it started to harden. lucky me.

Here is the enclosure with the top done, brace in place and subs mounted. they are of course, JL my favorite. they are 10W 3 dual voice coil to be exact. big sound in a small package. now all i need is a trim panel to tidy up the whole package

this is the final step, the trim panel to hide all the stuff below. the lighting is a little crappy to see, but the JL logo is raised or embossed in the carpet just above the triangle of subs it is about 6" tall. if you look close you can see some of it. the amps are also mounted to a shelf that sits below the logo in front of the box. i am using an MTX 81000D to run the subs @ 2 ohms. i havent checked spl on these because i really dont care. i just wanted something clean, simple and better than stock. im also working on a uv L.E.D. setup (like blacklight) to light up the subs at night, and some hyper white ones to light up the JL logo.

Of course that is only half of a good clean stereo. hopefully in a couple of weeks i will have pics of the door panel build. i currently have new door panels (thanks ebay) and they are stripped of the old fabric and vinyl. these will be the new home of 6 Boston Acoustics 6" mids and 4 Boston neo tweets. and im still working on a matching mid amp for those. anyway rate my junk if you havent allready and if you have, rate it again.
