This is accually a car I share with my wife. We split the cost of it and it acted like a promise ring. Which now she has the real ring. I wanted her to have fun the same as I do with my Camaro and Mustang. Since she is scared of the Camaro, and the Stang is stick(and she does not want to learn) We looked at cars at a car show, to see what she liked. It turns out that she loves only GM cars. Not a bad thing GM makes most of favorites. Well, she loves my style Camaro, but I had one. So we got a Vette. Really you can't go wrong with a Vette, its just sexy.

So anyway its a 89 auto Targa, with a few mild performance increases and of course the C6 Vette rims, that really hold to the pavement. Not a bad buy, and a nice car for her to start with. Still it needed some work. Don't they all, but the interior is mint. So I had the horrible expence of headlight motors, tires, sound system, and power seat motor. Eh, but we got a great deal none the less. So the car has a 12 disc Cd changer, infinity speakers(89-90 bose really are horrible and unreliable. TRASH! Keep aware when you're buying one that those two years have the worst sterio. 89 is the absolute worst) and a new head unit. Either way the wiring was such a headache. I ditched the whole bose system and had to figure out the wiring to use the wires from bose. It took a lot of emailing, trial and error and a fuse(Yea...to much error, not enough trial I think) But its done. So we are happy with it now. But if you ever need to do it, comment me and I will send you the wiring graff, and give you pointers. Really a sterio would take me 2 hours on a whole replacment, but this car it was like 8-10 hours. I think now knowing what to do it would be like 3 hours. It just got frustrating.

So with all the performance upgrades I put it at around 290-300hp, and a ton of torque. Not to impressive, except this car is 3150 pounds and handles like its on rails and scoots to 60 with no problem. It would really outChevyJay3s 1989 Chevrolet Corvette

Great looking '89. I agree 100% with the bose sound system in these cars. One of 1st things I had to change with my '90 was the stereo. I'm sure 19 years ago it was a good sound system but there is much beeter technology out now. As for rest of my ZR-1 I haven't had many problems with it in the year I've owned it. I did have to change the clutch but that is something that will wear out. My master cylinder also has recently started leaking but other then that it has been a fantastic car to own. The engine is amazing looking and goes like hell. The LT5 is extremely reliable if you take care of it, and you wash it by hand, never let it get wet. If you are intrested in buying a ZR-1 now is the time to do it. The recession has made these cars cheap. 5 stars to you

Thank you for the comments on my RX7. You have some very sweet rides! I gotta admit your Vette is my favorite one of them though.
