This is my new beast!
After driving home from a final tune-up before sale of the mini, I saw this Sunny driving past me near my place. Had been looking for a Datto for quite a while and this looked perfect for my requirements... Clean & tidy, unassuming, a real Grandma's car - perfect for a sleeper!
A week later it turned up on car sales and it was mine - the mini sold a week later :)
Here is the engine bay the way I found it - very neat and original. And next to it the upgrade!
Using a MAD DAT fitting kit, the drop in was successful, a few minor mods and she was in!
The plan is for a full street car - Air con has been sourced from another B310, factory spec. The Condensor will be in front of the intercooler to be hidden from any prying eyes.
A few minor mods to the rear of the tunnel were needed and it is here that I am currently working on with advise from the engineer.
Hopefully this will be boxed up very soon and I can start the rest of the work!!
New brakes and struts arrived the other day - RX7 S4 calipers, 280mm rotors, alloy hub, shortened Stanza struts and lowered springs.
I have just got the car back from getting the intercooler & radiator made up. Had some sizing issues due to the fact I am putting the A/C condensor up the front (behind the grill). Ended up having the radiator up the top & mounting the IC below. Here's hoping everything works when it's finished, won't be a lot of room left under the hood...
Best thing about having A/C, no giveaways to whats under the bonnet. :)
At the moment the car is sitting on stands in my garage, the diff is out as my new one gets made. Should be ready in about 3-4 weeks.
