I bought this ride a year ago from the original owner who was in his sixties, he had no idea what he had and sold it to me for $1500. Since I've had it, I've rebuilt the 400 V8, added a Holley 4bbl, Hooker headers, Edelbrock intake manifold, Flowmaster exhaust, and replaced the stock fan and pulley with electric fans for more HP. Replaced the stock air filter assembly with Holley. Added Goodyear Eagle GT's and centerline rims. The interior is all redone. I replaced the stock AM radio with a Kenwood tuner, and speakers. Just repainted it, and rechromed the bumpers, see page 3. It's all illegal now in California, but that's okay, I'm not selling it, and the only way the state would know, is when I get a smog check. Which I only have to do if I sell it. Let me know what you think of it, and any ideas you might have for beefing it up even more. Elky's rule the road, and the great thing is most people don't know about them, and since most were work trucks and were trashed, the few that remain are instant classic's.

nice job! how much work did you have to do to install those headers? I want to open up the exhaust on mine and am trying to decide on some headers. also which model hooker headers are those?

Thanks for the comment on my El Camino. I wish I could say it was mine still but I just recently gave it to my father for fathers day. He was in need of a car and was going to take money out of his penison so I decided to just give him my baby. He did agree that if he takes it it has to belong to both of us so it still is mine.
