My 1998 Regal GS

agelder's 1998 Buick Regal

NOW FOR SALE - $6000 obo in Atlanta Area
This is my 1998 Buick Regal GS. If you know anything about Buicks, you know this is as close to a hod rod as they currently get, er... I guess not so currently. Yes, GM discontinued the Regal and replaced it with the pansified LaCrosse. It's not bad looking, just not very fast. What I would really like to do is get the front and rears from the current chinese regals and put them on, but that won't happen for a while.

I HAD a Thrasher Engineering 3.4" Supercharger pulley... good for a few more pounds of boost. Otherwise stock, the pulley change upped my boost to about 11.5 lbs before my cam. I was back down to 8 lbs with it (less boost stacking, better breathing, more exhaust duration). Well, that just won't do. Thus I have tossed on a 3.25" pulley (MORE POWER) to get the boost back up to around 11 lbs, and go a little faster.
BIG THANKS TO
- TIM JACKSON (GS-in-GA ON REGALGS.ORG) FOR HELPING ME WITH THE FIRST PULLEY INSTALL
- CHRIS VALDEZ (SLOPOKE ON CLUBGP.COM) FOR HELPING ME WITH THE CAM INSTALL
- JOHN KANLEY (hope I spelled that right) FOR HELPING ME WITH THE SECOND PULLEY INSTALL

I have gone through several iterations of a CAI / Cone Intake, and my current is made using 3.5" mandrel bent steel tubing, cramming the air filter into the area where the fog light used to be. I'd like to make an airbox out of plexi to dress up the engine compartment a bit, but I'm happy with what I have for the moment.

Well, exhaust has been settled... sort of. I got a muffler, but I still need to install the darned thing. It's a flowtech afterburner muffler, crossflow dual outlet design. I still think I want to shoot it out the side to terrify those around me
Vote on my poll and help me decide!

For suspension, I have some Grand Prix struts (a little stiffer) that I will install when I get the time, I have some higher rate rear springs that'll give me a little rake. I just put in a larger front anti-sway bar (32mm as compared to 28mm stock) with some poly bushings that has made a big difference in the way turn-in feels. I've got some poly end link bushings that went in, helps even more. I have some Olds intrigue rear springs (still variable rate, but higher rates than the stockers) that should help handling a bit.

Transmission #1 is TOAST. Ever snap an input shaft? Not fun. Ever snap an input shaft on your way home from work on a Friday night in a ghetto-industrial section of town? Even less fun. The one I currently have in it is from a non-supercharged regal, and I'm probably pushing my luck on it. The original is in rebuild mode, I have a kit, but just need to get to it. I was going to go with 3.69 gears (as opposed to 2.93 stock) and Raybestos blue clutches, but cost of clutches and gas prices have me rethinking this.

Page 3 has nothing to show yet!
Page 4... is probably my greatest contribution to cardomain... a picture of the ultimate pimpin ride that I saw at a car show.
