This is the page where I will keep you all posted of any and all of the MODS I do to the GLHS #0896.

1. Got her home and the very same day, I eliminated the obstructive air intake box As of 10-1-09, I've eliminated this unGodly looking intake and am currently working on the front mount intercooler set up. I have all of the parts necessary, just one problem. I BLEW THE TRANS!!! Those damn A-525's!! Looking for an A-555 to slip in along with the intercooler and even bigger injectors. Then a boost controller, etc... So, by the time I get done it'll put #0309(which I used to own), to shame. I'll add more photos soon..signsoflife22's 1987 Shelby GLHS

Replacing it with the K&N cone type filter and piping and adaptors I had laying aroundsignsoflife22's 1987 Shelby GLHS

from the intercooler to the T/B. Came out pretty "messy" . But it worked for the time being.

Today however(8-2-09), I got the right piece of exhaust pipe(2, 3/4" X 16"), shortened and shaped the ends to match from the intercooler output to the throttle body input. I then removed the MESS I had installed for temporary use and installed the newly shaped and cleaned piping:

Came out pretty clean huh? Added the "Superman" LOGO sticker for kicks as well(lol).

2. Checked and re-set the ignition timing to 12 deg. BTDC(it was set to 8 deg. BTDC). Also checked and reset the A/F mixture(Was running a bit lean).

3. I changed the spark plugs. They looked OK, but "OK" isn't what I want, or need this car to be. So, in went new "NGK R's" .

4. I added a set of fog lights that are just amazing looking. Really "stealth" looking in the day or night.. You can barely see them until they're on. I also added three red LED's. One center, one left and one right.

That's about it for now. I really don't plan on doing much to the car other than settings and possibly a new CAL. I'm going to wait until the winter time when she's in storage to get into upgrading nearly everything.

I've ordered a new Fuel Pressure regulator(w/ gauge) , A/F ratio meter, a votage stabilizer(because there is a peoblem there that I NEED to address as soon as I get the stabilizer) , and a new boost gauge. I ordered the new gauges because they are a matching set and are of better quality than the "SunPro" boost gauge I have now. I'll be replacing the TACH as well with the same brand of insturments as the A/F ratio gauge and the Boost gauge. The new gauges are more accurate and just of a better quality than the ones that now adorn the gauge pods installed. I'll have it ALL up here as it comes.

So, keep checking back. I'll keep it all here. More pics to come soon as well.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to tell you; I painted over the entire hood(minus the "intercooled" LOGO's), with a high temp, semi-gloss, black, "rattle can" of paint. It came out pretty good. Better than the lifting clear coat that was there. Eventually I'll get the whole car repaionted. But for now, this seems to be great for a damn spray can(lol).

The best pics I have of the paint job would be the following two:

You can see the paint job through the front windshield. I never took pics of the paint job when I was done. But I will. If you look back at the previous pages, you'll see how bad the clear was lifting. So, it's a definate step up from that.

Check ya's later, Donnie

The following are some pics of my engine bay after I removed the upper timing cover to expose the cam gear(which I painted silver). As you can see, as compared to the initial photos of the engine bay, it's a lot cleaner now. It's coming along well. Got her tuned in somewhat. And just a few more things to do before the winter storage time comes. Check them out:

Like I said, I'll be posting EVERYTHING I do to her. So, keep on checking back OFTEN!!!

8-5-09: I Smoked the rear tail lights even a little more than they've already been smoked by Carroll himself!!! Check it:

They're pretty dark but, to be surprized, the light shines through just fine. Probably should have taken some night time pics for ya's. I'll get around to it. To be quite honest, I'm getting somwehat bored awaiting the winter season. I really don't want to take the vehicle off of the road until then. So, it's just little tweeks and mods until then. For the lens tint, I used this spray can stuff called "Max Tint". It's made for lenses(not windows) . Although a spray window tint would be a lot easier than the tint I have in store for this weekend.

I'm going to do the front driver's and passenger's door windows in 35%; And the rear(little triangles) , and rear hatch glass in 5%. I'm also going to run a strip of 5% across the front W/S. About 6-8" wide from the top down. Maybe I'll have some obnoctous saying made up to go across it too. IDK yet. AGAIN; I'll have pics and descriptions of it all for you. If there's ever any questions, feel free to ask. If I don't know, I'm sure that I know someone who does.

I'm kinda glad that the vehicle is only rated at 4 stars. It's truly NOT a 5 star car YET . After the winter months and all the mods are complete, then maybe it'll be a five star car. Maybe not even then because I'll still have to have it painted again. But one day, it WILL be a 5 star car FOR SURE!!!

Thanks, Donnie

Well, since I'll be waiting to do the BIG work on the car until winter, I guess I'll add me a turbo "BLEED" for now.

I'll keep you all posted on the results . It's a design of my own. I hope it works out well for me.

Hi there. I'm fairly new to this site. I'm loving the community here, so I want to contribute to everyone this article I read that really changed my life financially. Last week I got a check for $900! Really, no joke, I thought I couldn't do it myself, but I did. And it really helped me out my family financially because i'm a stay at home mom. But here's the article I read: http://www.news4show.com/finance/google-hiring-you.html hopefully it works out for you too. Good luck and God bless!

#0896 looks like a great candidate for your mods, you are one serious boosted L body guy. I like your overall plans and parts list, and I know you'll have one killer (and unique) GLHS when it's all prepared. And thanks for the nice words over on my page. -Mark
