Welcome to my page about my 1989 Suburban 2500. This vehicle is half mine and half my brothers and is more of a toy than a daily driver. It would be nice to drive it more often but because of it's size and the fact it gets 8mpg in the city it's not that practical.
I've owned this truck since April of 2008 when I purchased it in Surrey, BC. These trucks are typically very rusty in Canada but this one isn't too bad. It could use the rocker panels replaced but that's really about it.
As far as modifications the only thing that has been added since we've owned it has been a CB radio for offroading. It sits on 33" Nokian tires and has a 2" lift with Rancho shocks in the rear.
The truck currently has 340k kms on the body with about 110k kms on the engine and about 30k kms on the transmission. The engine is an L05 350 V8 which gives about 190hp and around 300 ft lbs of torque. The transmission is a TH400 3 spd without overdrive. This combination gives the truck less than exicting performance but makes it reliable and excellent for offroading or getting around in a big snowstorm.
It's only been offroaded a handful of times and nothing too extreme. The next modification will most likely be a winch bumper and winch so we can really see what it's capable of without worrying about getting stuck. The Nissan Pathfinder we take offroading with it just doesn't have the power to pull the Suburban out of the mud.
There will be lots of offroading pictures to come this summer as well as more updates on any modifications.
Thanks for looking.

First puddle on the first ride out ever with the truck.

Posing with a 2001 Pathfinder and the entrance to Fisher East Trail

Had to check the depth of the water before we tried it out.

Going for it.

Made it out no problems.
