Yeah I got this car for free in the spring of 2007. I was glad just to have a car. I don't know how it survived sso long, the little 3.3 L just kept on chuggin'. I seriously beat the hell out that car, floored it all the time, broke the e-brake, took it mudding, everything. I only put a couple hundred bucks into it, so it was a pretty sweet deal. The Sending unit and starter had to be replaced when I got it.
I replaced the lower ball joints and put on new plug wires a little later. I needed to replace the shocks/springs as soon as i got it, but i didn't wana put the money into it. The ride was terrible, but i didn't put it into the ditch too often. The stock sound system was decent, but by the end it only worked in acc mode. (no music while driving)
I personalized it by addinga 9 foot cb antenna, that got a lot of stares especially with caution tape trailing behind it. That and the cb was fun talking to truckers.
I actually made money with the car last summer though, I got hit after someone fell asleep at the wheel. I pulled over and got in my ditch, and he crossed the line and nailed my left rear quarter. i got $700 bucks outa his insurance, and still had a drivable car. (His little sunfire's front end was shredded)
Overall it was a fun car. Once I got my truck and it sat around all fall, my dad said he didn't want to plow around it all winter, so it had to go. And in case you didn't notice, last winter had the worst scrap metal prices ever. I was lucky to get 50 bucks from one of my buddies. I would like to think it's in a better place now, but i think it's prbly been junked by now. :-(
But I don't miss it too much, chck out my GMC.
