****************************************************************************

It all started a late evening in spring 2007...
I traded my broken ford mondeo with this old mazda coupe.
Most of its interior was trashed, a broken windshield, engine trouble, broken servo, a busted radiator, flat tires and a "homemmade" electrical wiring system. Some may say that I didn't exactly do a good trade..
So this project didn't start off good, but the engine was up and running again after two months of repairing. Then the car got parked for half a year, while I got together some ideas of what to do and which parts to get.
The snowball had only started to roll...

As I was searching for parts on the net, I stumbled over some pictures of the american version, the 1.gen mx6. I started looking for info on this car, and found the mx6 forum (lot's of great ppl and nice cars there).
Now I really had a lot of reading ahead, to see if there was anything I could transfer into my car project.
So the car got stuck in the garage for another three months.
After three months I repaired the most crucial parts like the engine, brakes, windshield +++ and started buying new parts.
Rims, styling kit, lowering kit, sports exhaust came home pretty quick, but then when I finally got to start on working with the car again, another problem appared.. rust.
Not much but enough to set back this project another step. Now a lot of new parts got stuffed into my "parts and repair" room, and the car is parked again, waiting...  well, not waiting alone, "she" got herself a "room mate", an '89 mazda coupe 2.0 16V. Engine transplant, just another project :P

I'm still buying new and old parts, so this project has gotten a bit bigger than I first imagined..
And if anyone knows of anything that could be of interest to me, please send me a message :)

Any news from now on will appear here only with date and part name.
Pics will ofcourse be on the page it belongs to :)

Thanks list on the last page ;)

hey mam, thanks for the comment. to do the headlights, strip all the brackets and slide the metal clips off of the back, then throw them in the oven for 5-10 minutes then youl bee able to separate the glass and housing. then paint only the top and bottom parts of chrome, the chrome behind the light is needed to reflect light. then throw the parts back in the oven for minutes, push them together and slide the clips back on and reassemble. btw... nice car, looking forward to see some progress

really like that front end on it. that DOHC looks like it needs a cleaning and valve cover gasket something fierce. hope to see the final outcome soon, good luck.
