TRAIL DAMAGE

korieg77's 2001 Nissan Frontier korieg77's 2001 Nissan Frontier
Got high-centered on a huge rock with no skids.(Check out that Twisted Tranny XMember!!!) While getting pulled off, the torsion bar adjuster and bolt were sheared in half causing the front driver-side suspension to collapse. (YEAH...It SUCKED!!!)

Today(05-11-03) was not a good day for me and my Frontier....For the first time EVER, I've inflicted some body damage...some SERIOUS body damage.(the tree ripped off my whole fender flare & almost ripped off the taillight!!!) AND...For the Second time in 2.5 years of hard abuse, I've blown out the front driver-side CV Half-Shaft. Do I hear an SAS Coming?!?!? We shall see!!!!

Driving up a huge "Step"...my SLR traction bar slammed into the "lip" of the step and you can see the result. I also bent my stock rear bumper sliding backwards down a hill, into a big rock!!!

Not really Trail Damage, but a pic of my cracked exhaust manifold. Not too serious, but I just discovered that I had a cracked Heim Joint on one of my rear Bilstein 7100s that is NOW going on my SAS'd front-end. (that's what the NEW Bilstein 9100s are for---the rear)

Nothing crazy here...Just bent the end of the u-bolt that holds on Automotive Customizers Rear Diff. Skid Plate and scuffed up the Calmini Rock Sliderz. I think this will be about the maximum amount of damage I will endure for the rest of the vehicle's life. (aka...It's built so strong w/ that Solid Axle that nothing's breaking....how cool is that?!?!?!?) And I can definitely live with some scratched up sliders and some bent bolt ends.

Now that's a BENT Tie-Rod!!!!! This happened on Jan. 4th. 2004. You can see the difference between the pretzeled one and his spare one he had on hand. (Always a good idea to carry spare axleshafts/tie rods/u-joints on the trail if wheel your ass off HARD like we do!!!)

Well my front driveshaft finally let go. (12-16-06) It's been over 3 years of hard-ass abuse on that thing! Here's a video on my YouTube.com website showing where/how I broke it :
