This is my 98 blazer with a jimmy front end conversion. I traded my 03 ranger http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2447577 for this in april because the last guy who worked on it messed it up pretty good and I didnt want to deal with all the problems that he created.

It's painted black and was white from the factory. Pinstripping is on the hood, the tailgate and also inside. It lays frame completly on 20's and the bottom of the frame was raised and leveled out to allow it to lay lower in the rear.

Pretty much everything is shaved including the doors, mirrors, rear wiper, roof rack, antenna, hood pissers, and molding. The passenger door on the drivers side needs to be shaved as well as the gas filler door. It still needs some more body work but its in pretty good shape. I plan to add custom motorcycle mirrors to have some sort of side mirrors on it.

  keep scrolling down for updates!

The floor was completly rebuilt from the wheel tubs back. The stock gas tank was taken out and replaced with a rci 12 gallon fuel cell and is located in the back under the floor. Pinstripping of a tiki man with the word freaks in his teeth is on the front of the false floor.

It has 2-5 gallon air tanks in the back. It has 2 viair 450 compressors but im about to replace those with 2 viair 480C compressors. I'm going to go through all the suspension components and replace everything to what I would like. It has 6 1/2" valves now but I plan to replace those with 8 3/8" valves and I will install a 9 switch avs switchbox along with a dakota digital air pressure gauge for the bags and tanks.

I started fiberglassing the dash for a panasonic cq-vw100u double din headunit. I'm also shaving the vents and everything else on this piece except for the headlight switch. I still have a lot of work left on it but hopefully I will finish soon.

updates on the dash

I decided to shave the spot where the headlight switch was. I should have used this technique before but I just thought of it. I cut out a piece of cardboard and hot glued it in place then layed the fiberglass over that. It worked perfectly and was a whole lot easier.

And I also smoothed the lip around the gauge cluster

crazs's 1998 Chevrolet Blazer crazs's 1998 Chevrolet Blazer

I relocated the headlight switch to underneath the dash and extended all the wires for it by soldering and heat shrinking each one.

crazs's 1998 Chevrolet Blazer crazs's 1998 Chevrolet Blazer

This is where the ash tray used to be and I used a cereal box (captain crunch crunch berries lol) to make the shape and used hot glue to hold it together then I fiberglassed around that and it will hold the 3 air pressure gauges I have.

Started shaving the door handle, gas lid and holes that molding attached to on the door. I made a fiberglass mold using the stock handle that I covered with foil and fiberglassed a filler plate then I molded that onto the car. For the gas lid I laid fiberglass over it and built it up around the corners. Still have a lot of sanding left to do...

Finished up the body work on the door and gas door and sprayed some black primer on it, it could use some more blocking but its good enough for now.

For the last week I have been working on replacing all the valves and fittings with the 3/8" equipment that I have. All new valves, lines, fittings, etc. everything is 3/8".

I used loctite 545 to seal everything and there is no leaks at all.

The brain for the AVS switchbox is behind the driver's seat.

I traded the two 5 gallon tanks I had for a 8 gallon tank with a buddy of mine.

Where the lines go through the floor I used rubber grommets to provide insulation.

I got the double din installed and need to finish the fiberglassing on the dash trim to fit around the radio and mount flush.

I recently had a leak in the radiator that I sealed up with some JB Weld. A buddy of mine suggested that the problem could have come from the overflow hose being sealed tight and not going to an overflow tank. This is what it looked like when I got it.

crazss 1998 Chevrolet Blazer

To fix the problem with the $0 budget I had to work with I made an overflow tank using a water bottle and some fiberglass to seal the hose to the bottom of the bottle. It's not the best looking tank but it works.

  (2/3/10)

I replaced the radiator with an all aluminum one that I picked up for $150. I also ordered an aluminum overflow tank that should be here on Monday and I will instal that then.

Your ranger was pretty sweet but I think you made a good trade. I dont have shocks on back of mine either, I just started redoing the rear suspension so it will have them soon! Looks good keep up the work.
