Gulfbreeze's 1975 Plymouth Duster

The day I picked it up(the car, not the chick) in September 2003.  My wife Mary and I bought the Duster off EBay for $1600. I will have more pics to follow, I had taken them all on 35mm film and just bought a scanner.  Anyway, holes were rusted in the front floorboards, quarter panel and front fender rot. I owned 3 of them as a younger man, so I was well familiar with them. The engine ran but puked all kinds of fluids and had a rod knocking badly- I could tell it would be a lot of work, but hey, it's just a Duster, right?  All I would do would be a fluff-and-buff to get the car going and satisfy my middle-age yearning.  Mary says on Day 1- "This picture makes my butt look huge!" and Mary says on Day 1000- "It's not a hobby, it's a disease!"  I can't disagree with either statement.Gulfbreeze's 1975 Plymouth DusterThe vinyl top stressed as well.Quarter panel rust, same on both sides.Gulfbreeze's 1975 Plymouth DusterGulfbreeze's 1975 Plymouth DusterBoth front fenders had holes I could put my fist through.Gulfbreeze's 1975 Plymouth DusterMe and Belchfire I circa 1976.  198 slant 6, 3-on-the-tree, manual steering and brakes.  I put on slotted mags, air shocks, and split the exhaust to give the illusion of a V8.  Man, I wish I still had those platform shoes-Dusters are easy to find compared to them.

well thanks for your nice words on my car. To be honest I have no idea who did the interior, the guy I bought the car from had no idea on anything, he was a Ford guy who just happened to have it, and wanted it gone because he knew nothing about it. I have 1 other lead, that I need to track down anyway, because the under hood vin tag is missing. So I'll try asking him about it, when/ if I get ahold of him. Anyway, I would love to here your thoughts on more horsepower! I love this car and the motor already fly's by my buddys rebuilt 350 powered El Camino. If you have the advice Im hear to listen and learn. I am a member of A bodies only forum already, but thank you.

The work you have done, is awesome. I have a 75 and they are just fun cars. Headturners as well. I have been to the beach cruises and all, ALWAYS DRIVE, I'd never trailer. I'd love to get on one of those road trips, power tour with it, but to be honest Im not sure how. But anyway your car looks great. Check mine out some time. Also I'd love to get some hp like you got, out of my 318. Very nice. 5*'s
