It was six months ago in early November 2008 when our newly created team JingDaddy Motorsports began looking to purchase a used sportsman car to race at Colorado National Speedway. We found a clean used race car without the drive train and seat shown below. This is the before and after of our first race car.

Then the decision was made to add a second car to the team. In late November we found a second car on ebay located in Wyoming. This car was purchased for the chassis and parts. We sold the body and ended up selling the chassis, but used many good parts for what ended up being a new car build. Here was the original chassis after we removed the body and interior. Hayden Reeder one of our future drivers behind the wheel. Pictures below are the before and after of our second race car.

One of the first purchases for the cars was the GM 604 crate motors shown below with Steve Sr.

Two Saginaw 3 speed transmissions were built in our shop

First you will see the progress of our first car #41 on this first page, then page 2 will begin with the building of our new car #26.

The passenger door, front bumper, radiator, fuel cell, springs, shocks, sway bar and lead were all removed. New motor mounts to reposition the engine were added as well. All seals and bearings, fluids along with brake pads and many other items were also replaced.

The GM 604 motor installed and rubber lined ATL fuel cell in car #41

Next it was time to remove the original decals.

The decals completely removed

So rivits being replaced by the Oaks brothers.

Finally painted! The color is a Sem product called Hot Rod Black. This was a good day for the team.

Dyno'd at Bear Lynches shop. We had a cracked spark plug so the dyno showed we had a problem on the first pull.

Next the car was brought to one of our partners Colographic in Commerce City for some cool graphics.

Each car has 2 different hoods available.
Today is Thursday April 30th - updates to #41 will continue on this page until the car has raced in our first event.

Update:
4 days before our teams first race the OaksRacing family decided to part ways with the owner of JingDaddy motorsports. We wish them the best of luck in their racing efforts. We are moving back to our Honda Prelude in the world of drag racing!!
