I picked up this ride from Craigslist when I really didn't need another car. It looked good and was sitting in between farms in New Hampshire. It packs a 3.0 liter Mitsubishi-built V6 mated to a 5-speed manual tranny. I guess you could say it was love at first sight. It was probably the powertrain combination that sold me on this ride. She still has under 200K and the body is in great shape and the top is functional-YAY! This baby just needs some TLC to bring it back up to snuff. After checking it out I took her home for $1,200. This is where the fun began... I blasted my way back to Massachusetts with my new baby after a quick gas stop. Of course, we went topless as that is one of the features I have advantage of. The tires are shot to a point that I could not go too fast because I was afraid of a blowout. They looked fine until you hit the highway and feel how fine they were not. Then she just out of the blue popped out of fifth gear and would not take it back, so I had to drive her the remainder of the way on fourth gear and cruised at 2500 RPM. Another hour on the road and I made a stop at a service area and when I started the car again it started making these grinding noises, but was able to move along nice and easy. Several miles later the grinding went away and I kept it in fourth to be safe. I finally got the car to New Bedford, MA and it seemed to run back to normal, haulin' ass and all! I stopped at the last light before my destination and blasted when it turned green and the car was DONE!!!!! It would not take any of the gears and in neutral I let go of the clutch and she stalled. Luckily, I was only a few blocks away and I was followed in my Voyager, so we hooked up a chain and got the car pulled the rest of the way. Now it sits safe by my boy Oscar's garage and I have to go on a mission for another tranny and I might as well throw in a new clutch. Once she runs again, though, I now know what to look forward to. Let the fun begin! Stay tuned.

The gauges are simple and accurate. Even the Sebrings don't offer volt and oil pressure gauges. The most I would do with these is maybe go white-face on them.

Here she is out in the boonies in New Hampshire. The headlight covers now work again.

I truly dig the white leather. Let's see how much I dig it when I spend an entire day really cleaning and conditioning them... Driver's seat is powered and the upholstery is in one piece, save for a small rip on the bottom cushion.

It looks pretty good for a '91 no matter what angle.

Not sure what I want to do with the dash, but for now I will keep it clean and shiny. The steering wheel is too plain-looking and I'm going to have to get a white leather cover for it. That's the stock Infinity cassette deck in there. The 6 x 9s in the back are missing, so I'll be getting replacements. For now, I'll just adapt a portable CD player. Could be doing a lot more if I didn't have to get a tranny for the damn thing already. Just my luck!!!!!

Here she is from the back. The top is good enough for a while and I don't plan on any kind of spoiler either. The black rubber trim gotta go white, too. I don't think those blue stripes on the sides are gonna work out either. The retard that put them on placed them higher on the driver's side. You almost can't notice until you get to the door handle. The badges may come off too. And let's talk about those rims... They're 14's and came out of a Plymouth Acclaim or something. But when you are on a budget you have to work with what you got and I can do something with those. The gold on the rims gotta go too.
4/28/08 - I'm still on a mission for a transmission! So far, one has been located and it's 500 bucks... OUCH! WTF?????? After working overnight, I met up with my buddy Oscar and we went junkyard-hopping and no such luck. I'm going to go on another hunt in a couple of days and try my luck a little further out. The only other option would be to have the current tranny rebuilt, but I'm afraid of it costing more than the $500 I'm crying about already! Would be resolved fast, but I am a single father of a 2 year old girl and her needs come first, so the new baby may sit until June, just in time for summer. The Voyager is more her car than mine, but I got some nice chrome 16's on it that came out of a '05 Sebring conv. Well, I'll holla at y'all with an update soon. Hope the rest of you are enjoying your precious rides. I'll catch up soon.
