Would you believe it???? Just when I'm taking up too many parking places already, The 'Ole Blue Mule got a playmate! It's another Air Force retiree, verified by that patented shade of blue on the inside and under the hood. The guy I got it from didn't like wax, so it got camo'ed- That's cool.
This one is a 1978 Power Wagon 4X4 w/ 360, 4spd, a np203 full-timer (bummer) and really not much else after that... my plans for it are to someday make it into a toy for my sons and I to go out and get a bit of "mud therapy" with. Life got rough for it right before I got it... but I'll post that story later.
*********UPDATE**********
OK, here's the story: Right before I got this little gem, It decided to go (without a driver) down a rather LARGE hill, through someone's front yard, barely miss their house, and jump (like a "Dukes of Hazzard" stunt) off a 20' embankment. What happened, might you ask?
It Bounced.
The people's next-door neighbor was eating dinner, and couldn't believe his eyes... And thanks to a couple of shrubs and 2 saplings, it stopped. The verdict? Although it could have been started, locked in, and driven out, The Fuzz wanted to help out cousin "Jim-Bob's" towing business... You know how that goes...
The ONLY damage was a pinhole in the radiator, and a cracked bell housing. I purchased it shortly thereafter, fixed the pinhole, ignored the crack, and this little gem has been my daily driver ever since. (and thus, giving "The Blue Mule" it's much-deserved vacation.)
Some day, the previous owner will find the memory card with the pictures of it sitting in the bottom of the ravine, and I'll post them...
God, I LOVE this truck!
