My following break was spent away in Kalgoorlie for the week but once again the morning I flew back to work we stopped in for an update and low and behold ALL of the fabrication was complete...So that means that the floors are finished, the rear shock towers are done, the rear spring hanger mounts replaced, any other bit of rust has been cut out and plated/patched, the parcel shelf has been plated, the front chassis rails have been repaired (where the tie downs pulled them during shipping), all wheel arch trim holes have been filled as have the lower sill trim holes. All seems on the underside and the interior panels have been drip checked and are ready for painting. They are now aligning all of the gaps, panel beating the front valance as it had a nasty bit of bog in one side and is a bit out of shape, trial fitting all of the panels and prepping the body ready for undercoating. All going well it should be ready for the spray booth next week. They will be painting all of the hanging panels seperate to the car and will apply 2 to 3 coats of colour and 2 to 3 coats of PPG High Solid Clear. The engine bay and underside will be painted in Satin Black and then it will await it's reconstructive process back in my garage. Clayton, the painter, is sinking his teeth nice and deep right now and can't wait to get some paint on it!So hopefully some time next week after returning home from work I might get to see some colour on it?
