This is my newest panther, a 1988 Crown Vic.  I bought it, sight unseen for $150.  All I knew was that it was an '88.  The guy told me that the transmission was out.  The "kickdown" cable was off, put that back it shifts fine.  It has a nasty oil leak I haven't got to look at yet, a fuel leak on the return line, and it needs shocks.  The body is pretty good, little surface rust and a couple dents.  I took the wheel covers off, I will be replacing the "steelies" with a set of Ranger wheels.  Everything inside seems to work, A/C heat, cruise, and the radio.  Manual windows and locks.  Never been smoked in, no major stains that I saw.  The engine runs a little rough, but it was sitting for about 2 years, some general maintinece should take care of it.   I think I may have found my second car for my twins.
