Page One - Suzanne

This is Suzanne. She's a '91 Camaro RS with T-tops, that started life as a 305TBI/700-R4/2.73 open drum car making around 170hp. I bought her in April of '98 with 99k on the clock and not a mod to be found. I've put another 60,000 miles on the chassis since then, but the car is now far from stock form.
This is the engine I built. It's a '76 5.7 block bored .030" (for 355cid) with 2.02 Fuelies, Edelbrock induction and carbeuration, Accel HEI ignition, a Crane cam, Hedman headers and a few other things. It's making around 340hp with the forged flat-tops and is waiting for either a blower or a bottle. I have yet to decide which.
Here's the interior (pardon the grunge.) This pic is a bit old, she has Autometer Ultra-Lite gauges now, and the switch panel is now gone, among other changes. The steering wheel is from Grant and there's a B&M T-handle on the B&M shifter. The pedals are from 3A and you can't see the Harlan shift light (it's in the ex-lighter-socket hole.)
When I built the 355, the original automatic tranny just couldn't handle the extra power. It gave up after about 9 months and I used that as a good excuse to upgrade. I swapped in a Borg-Warner 6-speed (T-56 out of a wrecked '95 Trans Am) with a SPEC stage 3 clutch and B&M Ripper shifter. Then I got a Borg-Warner 9-bolt rear with a 3.70 ratio, posi diff, and disc brakes to round out the drivetrain. Now she'll leave her mark in 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd, and still get 23mpg on the highway.
