My Volvo was possibly the most extremely modified Volvo here in the UK, but due to a big white van hitting me head on on my side of the road, it is no longer around! From April 2005, R.I.P.

CURRENT EXTERIOR
The car has been modified extensively, most xtreme modification is the custom made Air Suspension setup, so the height of the car can be adjusted at the flick of a switch.

The air suspension has been modified a few times to get the maximum allowed lowness! It is now running as low as the car will allow without major chassic modifications. The front tyres now rest on cars chassis, but front bags would go another 1" if the chassis wasn't in the way!

Low front/rear, don't see many Volvo's this low!

Close-up of rear, pretty close but no rubbing even with the 19" rims. To get the car to go this low I only had to remove the plastic inner wheel arch protectors.

Rear airbag sits on a spacer that is bolted to the spring cup. The spacer sets the lowest ride height available, so the car could go another 2-3" (7-8cm) or so but then I'd need to do some arch work, the rims are pretty tight! Full & empty.

Below the strut brace you can see the 4 front AirLift valves and the electric blocks on an aluminum platform, you can also see the Koni Sport Adjustable shocks. You can see the Vlair 450 compressor below the blue JR cone air filter, it is situated on a custom platform to help absorb the vibration.

To get the car to go up and down you need air on tap, so to sort this out you need some storage tanks. I have in total 8 gallons of air tank space. This is split up into two 2gallon tanks and one 4 gallon. Below you can see a 4 gallon tank fitted behind the front bumper, below that is another 2 gallon tank. The other 2 gallon tank is fitted behind the rear bumper next the the spare wheel sump, attatched straight to this is the two AirLift valves for the rear bags.

Here you can see the 740/V70 moulded together rear roof spoiler, the 960 rain gutter covers, and the V90 rear wiper cover.

CURRENT INTERIOR
I have upgraded the interior seats to ones from a Volvo V90, they are bucketed electric leather, the steering wheel and gear knob is Momo Race. The gauges are white, custom made by myself, and many parts on the dashboard and doors I have sprayed silver. The sounds aren't amazing but they are good enough for a daily driver. The drivers air vent is removed and in its place I put the white gauge and switches for the air suspension.

Engine: B230E (2.3I), Jetex cone filter, Magnecor 8.5mm ignition leads, MSD Blaster 2 Ignition Coil with chrome cover, MVP 60mm Big Bore Throttle Body, Stainless Steel "Longlife" custom exhaust with twin 3" tips.

Suspension: Air Supension (Viair 450 chrome compressor, 2x 2gallon & 1x 4gallon air tanks, AirLift front valves(x4), AirLift rear valves(x2), 1/4" DOT nylon piping, PremiAir Adjustable front airbag struts, Firestone rear airbags, AirLift white dial pressure gauge & switches, Bilstein Sprintline rear shocks) IPD 25mm Anti-Sway Bars front/rear with height adjustable competition front end-links and polyurethane bushings, Noltec Adjustable front suspension mounts, SAM chrome strut brace, MVP lower front chassis brace.

Interior: Volvo V90 black electric leather seats and armrest, Momo Race steering wheel, Momo Race gear knob, White Dial Kit, specially tailored car mats, Jamex seatbelt pads front/rear, aluminium pedal covers, silver dashboard centre console and door kit, stainless steel door sill covers.

ICE: Alpine CDM-7837 headunit, Kenwood KFC-P503 component speakers front, Kenwood KFC-P502 components speakers rear, Kenwood KAC-8401 amplifier, Crossfire KFA-202 amplifier, Infinity 12� subwoofer, Rockford Fosgate, Stinger & Autolead cables.

Security: AutoWatch (Cat.1) Alarm and Immobiliser with central locking and an extra battery backup 6 tone siren.

CAR SHOWS
Vallakra Traffen - This is the biggest modified Volvo car show in the world, and it takes place in the south-west of Sweden. It is a very long journey for me but worth it I think.

2000 - I came 5th in the 700 series class.

2004 - I went back to Sweden and managed to get 5th place in the 700 series class. Managed to take a photo of the Bilsport photographer taking some photo's. Playing with the air suspension can turn quite a few heads! Also got a photo of me collecting my trophy.

Max Power Live 2002 - One of the biggest modified UK car show is Max Power Live. It lasts for 3 days and every day I was in a different location at the show, these are from Day 1.

Performance Car Shop Opening Day 2002 - For the opening of a performance car shop here in my city Max Power were invited, all the usual music and lovely ladies were walking around, so I thought I'd take my car along, the old Volvo attracted a few people I'll tell you! The front bumper was resting on the floor because the way I parked it, even back then when I didn't have the air suspension!!!

MODIFICATION/PAINT SHOP PHOTO'S OVER THE YEARS
Over the years I have done quite a few things to the exterior so the car has had to go into my friends paint shop for the bodywork. Below are some photo's of the first lot of modifications I had done where I had all the swage etc removed from the car. Notice I changed the front bumper to by molding on S40 rear bumper splitter and a big front lip to give it the real 850R front bumper look.

Below I was upgrading to the Volvo V90 front end to make the car look more modern. I did most of this outside my house and then it went into the paint shop for a full re-spray in silver metallic blue pearlesant. It is a relatively easy upgrade to the V90 front, you just need all the parts and to weld an extra plate onto the top of the front wings so it ligns up with the 700 series body. You can see the bumpers through their stages of preping and finishing, because I wanted the bumper to be smoothed in to match the rest of the car, and due to the bumper/skirts being multiple bumpers cut and moulded together it took a lot of work, but it has turned out so well!
