This ia my 1980 280zx Base Model. datsuns answer to enthusiasts who were not happy with all the fluff that came with the 2nd gen 280's. It has 101K miles on it and runs like it looks, awesome :) I was lucky enough to pick it up from an elderly man who had it factory serviced for years. When I got the car I left it with a friend of mine who is an artist when it comes to paint and bodywork. He had it 8 weeks and did an excellent job fixing any imperfections and doing a beautiful paint job. He used a color called radium which is an exact nissan/datsun match.

Why is the handbrake lever on the other side? Kinda strange...but overall, that's a real beauty!!!

Thanks for the positive comments. The engine is original and has 101,400 miles on it. Put simply, this car was loved all of its life. I took care of what mother nature did but being a florida car it didnt take much. The previous owner had always run premium and synthetic oil when it was made popular. It went through a lot of maintence recently with suspension, brakes, tires, egr system, plugs, wires, top engine cleaning, cat back exhaust system , new master and slave cylinders on the clutch and new master cylinder for the brakes. Everything works except the stock radio which works on and off so it has a short somewhere that I will address one day. i will probably put an updated stereo in the glove box to keep the original look on the dash.. Only thing I am planning on changig is the 85mph speedometer due to the uselessness of it when i get on the interstate. Engine bats of fon a 1/2 crank everytime. I will put engine bay pics up after I pull the valve cover and powdercoat it and detail the engine.

Nice survivor! Don't see the base models too often.

it looks very clean. Is the engine still running really good? are you going to rebuild it or do a JDM or V8 swap?
