Intro/History Of The Shelby
Well I bought the car for $800 in Vancouver with 102,000kms. It had been sitting under a willo tree for the last 15 years. And as a result the paint on the hood and roof are sarting to peel and the whole body had a solid coat of slime over it. Also some kids came and broke the drivers side window so the interior was covered in mold from sitting uncovered for a few months of B.C weather. The previous owner replaced it but the damage was still done and the headliner will have to be replaced, but after about 6 hours of vaccuming and steam cleaning i was able to save everything else. The engine would turn but not fire, so i drained the fuel and put a new fuel pump, and fuel filter. Then new plugs, ignition wires and distributer cap and rotor, and a manditory oil change. After all this it would chug but not start so i mixed some oil and gas and squirted it down the throttle body to restore the seal on the piston rings and after a few tries it finally started up, and actually runs quite smooth but the exhaust manifold is leaking like crazy. That got me quite frustrated but i wanted it done so i went down to napa and they dont list one. So i went to Pick a Part(local junk yard), and lucked out and found a turbo daytona in the very back of the lot, and the manifold was good on that so i ripped it out. This is about where im at now lately its been cold rainy or snowing so i cant work on it but im going out to buy a car cover soon so i can work on it whenever. (bought a shelter...but blew away during the first winter storm). Luckly the car was undamaged, my parts car was not so lucky. I will also try to make time to update stuff on here and get some more pictures.
