alwayscode390's 1989 Pontiac Trans Am

This is my TTA named TINA.

She is a 1 of 187 TTA with t-tops and cloth interior.  Its a 1989 20th Anniversary ws-6 Pace Car Package.

They made 1555 of them for the one year.  Its the same company that made my Syclone.  This time they used a Buick 3.8 with a turbo and intercooler.  Its the GN engine, but with better heads; factory headers; and a cross drilled crank.

This was the first car to ever pace a race with ZERO performance modifications ... topping out at 172mph and averaging 156mph around the track!!!  They even came with 30 second Quick Change brake pad calipers.  Pretty neat!!!

They run 0-60 in under 5 seconds and 13.4 in the 1/4 STOCK.  They underrated them at 250hp because the vette' that year was 255hp and you know they cant outdue their flagship ;) .  They were dynoing 300hp crank at 16+psi.

This car dyno'd at 320 rear wheel horsepower equalling close to 400 crank hp.

Right now her mods are:

*Razor Meth Kit, KN Filter, Nitto Drag Radials, dyno tune, Flowmaster 3"  Exhaust with cat delete . Edelbrock Performer RPM cam/lifter/springs/timing chain set, MSD 50 lb injectors, Scan master, Boost/Pyro/Fuel pressure guages, Manual fan switch over ride, Fuel pressure regulator (adjustable), msd Coil Pack and ignition module, MAF translator with LT1 maf, and a high torque starter.

New tune up parts (just replaced, and have maybe 75 miles on them):

*Crank Sensor, MSD plug wires, AC Delco Plugs, Misc Vaccum lines, fittings, and breathers, Valve cover gaskets, TPS sensor, and electric hatch pull down assembly.

Future Mods:

*Ported Heads

*te-44 turbo

*3" downpipe

*Enlarged Intercooler Intake Elbow

*Drilled and Slotted Rotors/ Painted Calipers

*Brake Line Lock

*Optima Battery

*h7 headlight swap

*Engine Rebuild/ Tranny Rebuild

*MSD DIS coil pack ignition system

*5%/35% tint

*Subs and complete stereo system

*Custom Steering Wheel

*Dashmat and Custom Embroidered mats

They are like GTA's on crack ;) .  Its a ton of fun.  I cant believe the amount of looks I get in it !!!

This is car #5 , and was also a "festival car" ... meaning that it was possibly used by one of the race drivers for a week as a "courtesy car" (1 of 150).  ---
