This is my newest TOY. It is a 1966 Chevy Nova II Sport Coupe. It was built as a demo vehicle for the 2005 CES in Las Vegas for Interfire Audio. It was also on a 2005 episode of the tv show "Rides."
Several man hours went into making this vehicle laser straight. The vehicle was painted with a three stage House of Kolor Kandy Apple Red. The door handles, locks and emblems have been removed. Bear Claw latches were installed and remote door poppers are used to get into the vehicle. The gas door was shaved from the quarter panel and moved to the top of the quarter panel to make the side of the car smooth. The rain gutters were cut off from around the side windows and smoothed. The front and back glass were raised and stainless mouldings were removed. It has a cowl induction hood and is setting on a set of 18 inch Intro wheels with Dunlop SP9000 tires.
Under the hood was completely painted to match the exterior. It houses a rebuilt 350 small block chevy engine. Engine was detailed with chrome and stainless parts. The engine block was painted to match the vehicle. The vehicle has two battery boxes with custom made tie downs. A custom made strut tower assembley was made, painted and installed to match. A custom air cleaner was also hand made for the vehicle. It had all new braided hoses and new wiring.
The under carriage, including the front and rear clips were painted black. The vehicle was equipped with front and rear air bags. The rear end was given a custom 4 link set up. The front has new CPP upper and lower control arms. CPP disc brakes were used on all four corners with cross drilled rotors on back.
The interior was mostly hand made of fiberglass. Dynamat was installed in the doors, headliner, firewall, package tray and floor board. The seats are upholstered in tan leather and suede. The headliner is made of tan suede. As you can see from the interior pics, there is a lot of electronics in the vehicle. The trunk was also Dynamated and given a fiberglass treatment as well. Audio and Video components were installed throughout the vehicle.
