This is my first Jeep, though my family has a total of 5 Jeeps. Two 1998 Grand Cherokee Laredos, a 1999 Cherokee Sport, and a 1998 Cherokee Classic . We tend to call our driveway "Jeep Land".

Anyway, I bought my Jeep around my 18th birthday (March '08). I wanted to buy a stock YJ, so I could modify it myself and know what has been done to it. But after looking at the costs of lifts and tires, I decided it'd be cheaper to buy one already lifted. I'm the third owner of it, and it seems to have been taken care of very well, except for the rust that you'll find on most, if not all, 17 year old vehicles.
For now, it has a 2.5L 4 cyl engine with manual transmission. The tires are 33"x13.5" Pitbull Rockers on 15" rims. I believe the wheels are either American Racing or Cragar. It has a 4" Rough Country suspension lift and 2" body lift. It has the stock Dana 35 rear axle and a stock Dana 30 front axle. That's all I know of it so far until I get the time/money to investigate and change it.

Things I Plan On Doing With It:
-Remove dents
-Fix rust spots
-Fix side steps (or just get completely new ones)
-Sand the rust off the frame then paint it black with Rust-Fix primer spray paint, then spray a rubberized paint type thing. (I'll get the actual name once I can find it again.)
-Straighten tailgate and passenger side bumperette. (They were dented in from the PO)
-Replace U-Joints, radiator, all fluids, and install a 4x4 Posi-Lok.
-Do a complete tune-up.
-Clean/Degrease the engine

There's a few major things that NEED to be done before I can get it registered/inspected/on the road (or off, for that matter)
-Rear brake lines are not there... at all.
-Weld new shock mounts on. (Stock mounts rusted and broke off of the frame)
-Bleed the clutch. (As of now, it only catches when it's almost at the floor.)
-Replace an engine mount.
-Put in a new rearview mirror. (It's not a major fix, but it is a necessity.)

For a seventeen year old Jeep, this is in pretty good shape, mechanically and cosmetically. It has the expected scratches and dents from offroading, and rust. I bought this as a project, and that's just what it is. I wanted something driveable that I could work on. This just happens to be the perfect Jeep for me.
