And again.... FTD, Overall and Class win. Damn the car feels good right now!!!

Did it again. FTD'd, Won Class and Overall at Dec. 19 Rallyx.

Dec. 12: Had a pretty good day. Won FWD by 5 secs. and set Overall FTD by 5 secs. Took things pretty easy in the afternoon to nurse the car through another event. Had some suspension parts move around a lil after the morning runs and what I thought was an axleshaft on it's way out, may have been a loose engine mount. Finger's crossed for good results on Dec. 19.

Thanks to Ian G. for freezing his butt off and taking some great pics.

Kamakazi style driving needed to catch and pass this jdm wrx.

More great time attack pics from Grant C. Too bad you couldn't run your s2k.

Thanks to this photographer for catching this sequence. This was the story of my night. Stuck in traffic. I had a had a very frustrating day trying to get even 1 clean lap per session. But I did get faster each session to a personal best time at this track and a 3rd place finish losing by a second to a Corvette ZR-1 and a really badass fd rx-7. Stayed just ahead of the big power gtr's and evo X's. Not bad for a 250whp f$*king neon on blown rally suspension.
Go Jen! lol :) Yup, the neon's still got it. Whooped some serious fwd butt at the Super Special Dirt Cup, just couldn't quite catch the fastest awds.

New shoes and the neon is back near the top again. Finished 2nd overall while running on street tires.

My 2 favourite autoxing ladies. Joe in pink and Jen in red.

Is that neon rwd?

I love this action sequence. I saw the cameraman(Ian G.) from the start line and decided to play rally driver at an autox. Great shots Ian. This was sooo much fun. FWD drifting FTW!!

Mountain Trials rally in Merrit BC. What's better than jumping a car with 3 tires? That's right... Nothing... Except maybe jumping one with 4 tires.

A couple pics from the Rocky Mountain Rally May 27-29. I honestly do hate subarus :P but I couldn't pass up the oppertunity to co-drive this one.

Rally test day pics from May 24, 2010.

The car was feeling fantastic considering the car's little wreck on Saturday. Big thanks to VEX Performance for allowing me to have full use of the shop. I couldn't have got the car back together for Monday's Time Attack without VEX's support. Still awaiting official results and lap times. Not expecting great times cause I wasn't pushing too hard with this being the first outing for many new parts including the first time on a track with my new turbo and additional weight reduction. I was very happy with the car's overall performance and I eager to make a couple of little changes and hit the track hard next event.

Big thanks to Grant C. for these pics from Monday's Time Attack.

May 15, '10. CSCC autox at the westerner grounds in Red Deer. I got tired of removing the front bumper just to load on the trailer, so I just left it off. This ended up saving me a lot of damage as the lower pics will show. I was able to finish 4th overall, even with horrible afternoon runs capped off by me smoking a curb and a tree. lol

Thanks for these autox pics Jen.

All this and the most difficult to fix damage was me twisting my brake pedal like a pretzel in an atempt to stop. I bent the brake pedal underneith the gas pedal.

"Oh poop", yeah, that's what I was saying. lol
Another photographer's take on my lil incident. Great pics Ian G. You are the man.
Sealed up the 2009 CSCC Rallyx FWD points championship with one event to go. This was a flawless season with dominating victories at each event. Unofficially 2nd overall in the points to one AWD car.
That's not supposed to happen. Most of the awds should be ahead of the neon. And the awds also had a significant traction advantage at 4/5 events.
No more excuses for ever losing to an awd!
I have asked and been allowed to step up and compete with and run against the awds. I think the neon can win an awd rallyx points championship but only time will tell.
The neon finished 1st overall by the relatively large margin of 4.229secs over the closest STI. Won FWD class by 9.779 secs. Also set the fastest single run time of the day.
Nov. 29,09. The car was working fairly well other than the blown rear dampers . I was driving really well especially in the morning. It was a great feeling. I had 2 runs that were almost perfect and i'm very critical of my own driving.

What's better than owning an STI or Evo? Answer: Beating them at their own game in a f&$%ing neon.
And yes...I do have diff envy. lol I'm keeping the neon but also buying a 1996 Evo 4 next spring when they become legal for import into Canada. :)

Another thanks to Grant C. for these great autox pics.
Pics from sept 13 autox. The neon was the quickest raw time car of the weekend while running street tires against the r-comps of other competitors. What a way to finish the autox season. My driving improved a lot for the second half of the season and I can't say enough good things about the Kumho xs's. These tires are fast.

Pics are from a CSCC autox event on Aug 8, 09. The neon placed 3rd overall behind a Lotus elise and an RX-7, both on gummy r-comps. Mine are legit street tires. These new kumho xs's are an incredible streetable autox tire. Big thanks to Grant C. for these fantastic pics.
Chillin' in between sessions at Stratotech Park on July 20, 09. The car is doing fantastic in the Speedway Performance Time Attack Series. The car is currently in 3rd place in the Modified Class(totally open including drive configuration) as long as it's running treadwear 140-200 rubber) championship standings. The lil neon was able to pull off a 2nd place finish without the aid of a working third gear at the June 22nd Time Attack..

Look out for this neon once the big turbo goes in and we really get the car dialed in.

More pics from the July 20 time attack at Stratotech Park.
May 16,09 autox. Just sitting in the pits. Won class, placed 5th overall while running on fried street tires and beat an Ariel Atom(this is his first season, he'll be kicking my ass in E/MOD class soon enough).

I love the classing in this time attack series. It's based on tire treadwear rating and nothing else. Fwd's are no longer competition on any surface for this neon. (at least in my region)

Time atack at Stratotech Park, May 4,09. The car was handling fantastic. First time at the track and the neon finished 5/25+ modified cars in it's class and the neon was running some of the worst tires. I can't wait to see what this car will do as I improve, mods happen and we really dial it in.

Autox on May 3,09. It ran some very quick times, but hit too many cones. :( Question: What is lighter than a carbon fibre hood? Answer: no hood at all, and it's cheaper to
Rallyx pics from the cscc "slush cup" on Mar 22,09. Easily won fwd, but due to the surface changing and being in the first run group, the neon couldn't quite get the overall against the awd's running last. (It beat the ftd by 10 secs/lap during fun runs;)

This is the day before the snowy autox above. Just out for a cruise with the Western Subaru Club after a meet hosted by Vex Performance.
Just a pic of my beloved rallyx practice track. There are a couple of videos taken at the track aswell. Just like the neon, the track is a work in progress. Hosted my first event on March 15, '09.

Rallyx on March 15,09. The neon won fwd by a very large margin but at this event, the first run group(awd) had a huge traction advantage(+awd), making the overall well out of reach. (Thanks to Brando from the Calgary Sports Car Club for these rallyx pics.)

Rallyx pics from the summer of '08. The neon set ftd(fastest time of the day) at 3/5 events that it ran with the Edmonton Rally Club in '08. The awd cars are only able to hang with the neon when there is next to no traction. The car is affectionately known as the "super neon" within this club.
Gravel coilovers in the front cranked up for rallyx and stock springs and struts in the back cause the rear coilovers were out being rebuilt. I won't be running the car at this hieght anymore because I believe it was the cause of several axle shaft failures last fall. Hopefully the DSS axles and better suspension geometry will have solved this problem for good. It has so far.

Thanks to Jennifer for these autox pics.
Random pics from the '07 winter rallyx season. In stock form the neon was still a menace on a loose surface. Notice as the pics get older the car has less stickers.

First autox ever in '05. The car was less than a month old and was running terrible because of a trouble code caused by going cat-delete and straight piped.(finished 12/13 in class)
I would just like to thank who ever it was that took these various pics.(I don't even own a camera) hmmm, and I was in the car for all of these pics. lol
