This is my 1998 Sunfire GTX, I bought this sunfire because the sub-frame was rotten on my black sunfire.

I paid $800 for this sunfire and it waz well worth it, it needs a new clutch, which i have, just need to get it in. Had a little fixing to do on the rear sub-frame but nothing serious, let me kow what ya think of my sunfire.

I'm gonna re-build my engine this winter and i'm probly going to get another good cyl. head and take it to have it port and polished and maybe have it shaved a bit. I scratched the turbo idea for now, i wanna see how much power i can make with a naturaly aspirated 2.2L engine first.

Yeah, the head gasket was a pain to do, a 2 or 3 day job. You have to get the head re-surfaced so you know it's flat, and there's a hidden crossbrace under the intake manifold. That sucks that yours is going out on you, good luck.
