this is my 77 firebird hope to start a full restaration on her once i return from iraq... my grandmother has had this car for almost 19 years and i have been tryin to get it street legal for about the past 4 of them. but insoficcient funds didnt allow me to do so the car is already in very good condition just needs some tlc in certain places such as new carpet (small tear in the passenger side under seat) and very miniscule amounts of rust on the lower quarter pannels. besides that this car has been my dream car every since i was a little kid and now it is becoming a reallity. as of now it has what i supose to be the stock 301 motor in it but not quite sure. the car has logos of formula as well as espirit.... i am awaiting the vin # to verify but if you see it please feel free to give me some advise all is very much appriciated! ill try to post more pictures but the ones you see now i had emailed to me so we shall see how it goes thank you very much guys!

i figured it out! the car is an espirit but i do have some more issues..... the fifth letter of the vin number is suposed to be what motor is in the car from factory but........ the letter is "U" and in the incription that i found there isnt a U for any of the motors from that year or make....
ok... now with out the story defining the car it means nothing really to have a classic car, the story behind this one is more of an inspirational type for myself. it all started whenever my grandfather got a divorce from my grandmother, it put her into a deep depression and she wanted pretty much nothing at all to do with any men whatso ever. she was friends with this car dealer named carmen for many years and since she had just gone through a touph devorce carmen was there to support her as a friend through everything, he decided that he was going to ask her to date him the one day and she said the only way that i will ever date you is if you own a muscle car (she had no recolection of his 77 firebird that had been sitting in his garage since 77). the next day up the drive way he came in this stunning ass 1977 firebird and about dropped her to her knees~! they dated for a while and things just werent working out they were better off friends so they kept it that way, carmen knew how much she admired the car so he told her if she ever wanted it she would have first dibs.. so, she bought it a few years passed and carmen came down with cancer really bad and passed away ever since then the car has not moved well besides taking it about 3 times a year to wash and wax it. it has had a few minor problems like brakes went out (bad master cylender) fixed already, it needed a transmission screen got that fixed as well. i have been trying ever since he died to keep the car in as best shape as possible for her she really wants to drive it again someday. this car has been a family should i say car sort of not in the scence that it is a grocery getter by ne means just that we used to go in road trips accross pa in it to visit the rest of the family when i was allot younger and i would really just like to put the car exactly the way it was when she bought it off of carmen MANY MANY years ago. whenever i left on this deployment about 4 months in, i was talking to her on the phone and she said when i return home the car is mine... it is very hard to understand how big of a deal that is unless you have heard the entire story, but that is about all i got for now...
ps. more pics are comming soon having them emailed to me
