Hi my name is ian, from cornwall and this is my build for autograss, the plan was to race it this season, but as i am finding more and more work to do to the car, i may not be racing it till next season. its a 1992 vw scirocco gt2, i was given the car to me for free, just had to go and pick it up.

When i picked the car up it wasnt running, but only turned out to be a lose dizzy cap, thats why it was laid up lol. once running straight away i heard it knocking.

so the work begins, i picked up a mk1 golf gti engine of ebay for 25 quid that had been standing for 5 years, but was rebuilt 1000miles before taking out the golf. i will use the bottem end from the engine, but not sure witch head to use yet.

here it is few days after i got it, sorry i dont have any pics of it when i picked it up with the lights in it.

The next i decided to do was gut the inside and strip out the wiring and this is what i left myself with, i left the orginal clocks in for the min and cut everything else out. im still unsure weather to use orignal clocks or just to take all out and just have a rev counter.

as you can see have started to build the roll cage, and put a rough coat of paint on

The fuel tank had to be taken out for saftey reasons, but rear beam had be droped out to remove the tank. while under the car found all rear brake pipes were about to burst so have ripped them out, will re-route them inside the car now to save them getting damaged in race, have also took out the orginal handbrake and want to fit a hydrolic handbrake in.

p.s dont take any health and saftey reports on how i got the car up of wheels lol.
