04.23.09: So I emailed the guy way back before I was supposed to pick this up. Turns out he sold it after he had agreed to sell it to me. I sent him a nice pissed-off-sounding email.
I've found and made arrangements to buy a different Sidekick, this one is much closer to home, I've actually seen it in person, the guy doesn't seem like a total idiot like the other guy, etc. No crack in the frame, it starts and runs just fine (we had to boost it and inflate the tires, but I believed him when he said that was just because it had been sitting for 6 months).
I'll be taking this log down and making a new one when I get it.
Specs: 2-door, auto, 4x4 w/low-range transfer case, hard top, bright yellow. Not much rust. Brand new looking spare, but one tire was flat from sitting, probably going to swap it for the spare. $300.
On Easter weekend I'll be picking up this Sidekick. It will not be going on the road, I'll be using it at my cottage. A tornado hit the cottage property last summer and now we have to clean up 2 acres of horizontal forest, so we're buying this mainly to haul trees and stuff. As time and money permits, I plan on making it into a bit of an off-roader project. I found out that I didn't get re-hired to the job I worked last summer, so I'll have lots of time to work on it. Nothing ridiculous as it's not in great shape to start with, but I have some ideas. Thinking of starting with a simple square-tubing body lift and some bigger tires if I can find them cheap/used. Maybe some spring spacers.

And...
$200!
Crack in the frame near body mount. Guy said he drove it from Toronto to Bolton without any problems so for my purpose, it's fine.
